We would love some extra help this Sunday, March 1st at 10:00am to collect the Veteran wreaths that were placed on National Wreaths Across America Day last December. If you are able to help, please bring a snow shovel that can be used to stack the wreaths along the handle and drag them to the collection point. THANK YOU!

We kindly ask all patrons, friends, and family members to please come and collect ALL grave site winter decorations BEFORE Saturday, March 21. Our scheduled cemetery clean-up is on Sunday, March 22. All unclaimed items will be collected and discarded. AFTER Sunday, springtime decorations may be placed.

We wish to thank the 150+ guests who came out to participate on National Wreaths Across America Day to place wreaths on the graves of our Veterans. This day is about remembering the fallen, honoring those who serve and their families, and teaching the next generation the importance of freedom. We shall never forget.

Here's a fascinating fact... Monocacy Cemetery covers 13 acres of land. So does the Great Pyramid of Giza! We have almost 6,000 people buried here. Giza had ONE person!

Monocacy Cemetery is so proud of Ishaan P and his scout volunteers for resetting 60 corner lot markers yesterday as his chosen Eagle Scout project. The grounds look noticeably better having these markers back in place. Congratulations, Ishaan, for a successful day, and THANK YOU!!!

We wish to thank the 157 volunteers who participated in our National Wreaths Across America Day event by laying wreaths at the graves of our 501 Veterans. They braved the chilly day to REMEMBER those who sacrificed for our country, to HONOR those who are serving in our military branches, and to TEACH the next generation the value of freedom.

As part of our annual Wreath Day event on Saturday, December 14th at 11:30am, we will be collecting household items for homeless Veterans in need, sponsored by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). One such program is the Safe Haven for Homeless Veterans, which is a 24-hour staffed transitional residences with private or semi-private accommodations that target the population of hard-to-reach, chronically homeless Veterans with mental illness, many with SUD, and when traditional residential treatment programs do not meet a Veteran’s needs.

A collection box will be set up at the cemetery's entrance gate for the following items:
