We see a lot of patients lose weight with our Weight Loss Program, typically 2-4 lbs per week, but if the lifestyle changes aren’t made during the program, the risk of gaining that weight back skyrockets after stopping the meds. Check out a few tips that can help you lose (on or off sema), and maintain long term results!
PRIORITIZE PROTEIN
You MUST prioritize protein during your program. This means eating your protein FIRST in your meal, and a minimum of 80g daily- some even argue to shoot for your goal weight in pound (goal weight of 150, goal protein is 150g/day) This will help reduce the muscle loss that occurs with semaglutide injections.
DRINK MORE WATER
Drinking water will help fill you up, but also keep you hydrated. Many of our patients go into ketosis during the program which requires drinking 1/2 of your body weight in pounds, in ounces of water to keep your kidneys happy! I.e. If you weigh 200lbs, 100 oz of water per day.
BE PATIENT
It’s easy to become impatient when starting your weight loss journey. Healthy weight loss is 2-3 lbs per week, which is about 10 lbs per month or 120 lbs a year. Losing faster than this can be hard on your systems, so be patient with yourself during the journey!
