Good day to pull a few wolf teeth 🦷

FUN FACTS
Wolf teeth come in at 6 to 9 months of age.

Some horses are not born with them at all!

They sit right in front of the first premolar, behind where the bit would sit in the mouth.

They can have up to 4 wolf teeth 2 on the top jaw (most common) 2 on the bottom jaw (least common).

Very important to remove these teeth before any hand to bit contact.

Ran into a very interesting case today! This horse got kicked in the face when he was younger, where his top incisors are missing. This horse also has a parrot mouth causing 106 206 311 411 hooks. With proper routine dental care in the future this horse should be able to eat well and live a long healthy life. 💙🦷🐎

The teeth on the left came out of the same horse. A mare that was 28 years old still had a wolf tooth hanging on! She was losing weight and not eating well, turns out she had a loose tooth which can make it very uncomfortable for a horse when trying to chew their food. She is doing much better now. I love helping these older horses in need 💙🦷

The teeth on the right are baby caps. These teeth come off as the adult teeth come in. In this case they were retained so had to be removed.

Keep your horse happy and healthy with routine dental exams. Never know what may be going on in there 😁🦷💙

Here are some blind wolf teeth, the specific horse they came from is 8 years old that fights the bit.

This simpleprocedure can turn a 1300 dollar horse into a 5000 dollar horse easy, or put a 3rd or 4th place horse in the winners circle!!

Keep in mind wolf teeth come in at 6 to 9 months of age, so these were just over looked which is easy to do if you are just glacing in the mouth and not doing a thorough dental exam.

Little tiny teeth can cause big big problems!
