Six months ago we took our first steps together… and today we will celebrate 6 months of Lowcountry Mindful Motion.

What started as a simple community walk has grown into something so much bigger. A real space for movement, mindfulness, connection, and support for all people in our community.

Every step, every conversation, and every new face has helped build this. If you’ve ever walked with us, shared our posts, encouraged the vision, or simply believed in what we’re building, thank you.

Join us today at 4 PM, at our usual spot (the Cypress Wetlands) as we walk together again and celebrate 6 months of growing together.
Let’s keep building community one step at a time! 🌴💜👟

Parking update for our walks! We will still meet at the big platform aka Amphitheater, parking will just change! More details in upcoming post! 💜

Due to the start of construction to improve Paris Avenue, access to the Port Royal Cypress Wetlands amphitheater will be limited for pedestrians. Therefore, for the foreseeable future, we recommend that visitors to the Wetlands begin their tour at the half-mile loop, starting from the covered pavilion on Richmond Avenue. Parking for the pavilion is ACROSS from 1710 Richmond Avenue. Directions are as follows: Turn off of Ribaut Road onto Richmond Avenue at the Dollar General. Drive through the first stop sign, past the YMCA, and then park along Richmond Avenue at the covered pavilion.

Tomorrow’s walk (3/1) will be rescheduled due to a family event that came up.
Join us at our next official walk on 3/15. 🌴💜👟

If you’d like to gather and walk anyway, please do! The weather will be beautiful tomorrow! Message some of the people you’ve connected with from past walks and get together if you’d still like to move. If you get together share your photos, tag the page, and represent. Community is built step by step, even when plans shift.

See you all 3/15!!!! 🫶🏽

Parking update.

Beginning today, Friday, February 20, a safety fence will be installed along the Paris Avenue sidewalk as part of the ongoing improvement project. The fence will remain in place until construction is complete, which is expected to last approximately six months.

During this time, there will be no direct pedestrian access to the Amphitheater or Wetlands Trail from Paris Avenue. The full loop will remain accessible from alternate entry points, including the covered pavilion on Richmond Avenue, east of the YMCA, east of the Police Station, the end of 17th Street, and 16th Street just east of London Avenue.

As construction continues, we ask our community and visitors to please be mindful of the small businesses along Paris Avenue. These locally owned shops and restaurants rely on accessible parking for their customers during regular business hours.

Parking will not be available along Paris Avenue, and guests visiting the wetlands are encouraged to park near the covered pavilion on Richmond Avenue. Please do not park in private business lots unless you are patronizing those establishments. Parking in the Police and Fire Department lot is prohibited.

Your continued support of our Paris Avenue businesses during this improvement project is appreciated. Together, we can ensure progress while keeping our local economy strong.

For questions regarding construction, please contact the Town of Port Royal at 843-986-2200. Questions specific to the wetlands may be directed to info@foprcw.org.
