Parking update.
Beginning today, Friday, February 20, a safety fence will be installed along the Paris Avenue sidewalk as part of the ongoing improvement project. The fence will remain in place until construction is complete, which is expected to last approximately six months.
During this time, there will be no direct pedestrian access to the Amphitheater or Wetlands Trail from Paris Avenue. The full loop will remain accessible from alternate entry points, including the covered pavilion on Richmond Avenue, east of the YMCA, east of the Police Station, the end of 17th Street, and 16th Street just east of London Avenue.
As construction continues, we ask our community and visitors to please be mindful of the small businesses along Paris Avenue. These locally owned shops and restaurants rely on accessible parking for their customers during regular business hours.
Parking will not be available along Paris Avenue, and guests visiting the wetlands are encouraged to park near the covered pavilion on Richmond Avenue. Please do not park in private business lots unless you are patronizing those establishments. Parking in the Police and Fire Department lot is prohibited.
Your continued support of our Paris Avenue businesses during this improvement project is appreciated. Together, we can ensure progress while keeping our local economy strong.
For questions regarding construction, please contact the Town of Port Royal at 843-986-2200. Questions specific to the wetlands may be directed to info@foprcw.org.
