ATTENTION BEAUMONT SCHOOLS and parents whose kids go to school in Beaumont!

Anaphylaxis is a life-threatening reaction to an allergen, with the most common allergen being food. The primary treatment is epinephrine, which is available as an injection (aka Epipen) or as a nasal spray (aka Neffy). Neffy is easier to use, cheaper, and less scary for people to use.

There is a program that will give each school TWO FREE Neffy sprays, as long as they meet the requirements, including having a licensed medical provider to write for the prescriptions.

Beaumont House Call Doctor and another doctor, an allergy doctor in Houston, are willing to write prescriptions for our schools.

If your school would like to have free Neffy sprays, which would help protect our kids in case of an anaphylactic reaction wille in school, send us a DM so we can begin the process.

Parents, contact your school to find out if they are interested in this program. If they are interested, let them contact us directly.

Happy New Year, Beaumont community!!!

As you know, due to financial burden, Beaumont House Call Doctor PLLC (BHCD) no longer exists under the initial vision, and we have stopped accepting patients.

However, the vision of the founder, Dr. Rosemary Eseh-Logue, to have BHCD serve the Beaumont community is still very much active and even more so!

We’re thinking of re-opening BHCD as a sustainable non-profit organization designed to meet the needs of the Beaumont community.

We’re taking ideas from the community about how we can best serve you.

Ideas we’re thinking of:
-monthly free health screenings for diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, high cholesterol, and heart failure

-monthly education on common health issues, how to live with certain diseases, nutrition, and so on

-house call for safety check-in for our vulnerable elderly population

We’re open to your ideas, and we’re open to volunteers.

It has been a pleasure to help provide medical care in our community. We will be closing this acute medical service due to economic hardship of being an independent practice. The last day to see patients will be 8/15/2024. It has been a pleasure to serve you for as long as we have. We wish you continued health.

Happy Monday!

The holiday period typically involves indulging in foods we typically avoid or minimize. Unfortunately, this indulge can lead to new medical issues after the holidays, because our diet is so important for maintaining health, especially for those with chronic medical conditions like heart failure, diabetes, or high blood pressure.

This is a reminder to check yourself, especially if you haven't being doing so lately.

1) weigh yourself daily if you have heart failure, to see if you are retaining fluid. Too much fluid or salt intake can cause fluid retention and leg swelling.

2) check your blood sugar daily if you have diabetes, to see if your blood sugar is running too high from the recent holiday meals.

3) check your blood pressure to see if it's running high. Salty foods can raise your blood pressure.

Contact your doctor or your medical provider if your self-check shows your numbers are running high.

It's GERD (gastroesophgeal reflux disease) awareness week.

Did you know that GERD or acid reflux can cause cough? Now you know.

And for those with asthma, uncontrolled acid reflux can trigger their asthma.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease, known as GERD, happens when your stomach contents, including stomach acid, go back up the esophagus. The esophagus is the tube that carries food and liquids from your throat to the stomach. The unpleasant symptoms of this disease are known as “heartburn,” and they have been associated with a cough.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Please note, because of the holidays and some limitations that has come up, we will not be able to have our free clinic this Sunday at Henry's Place as previously scheduled.

We'll keep you updated as to our next free clinic in December at Henry's Place. We'll probably have the next free clinic in December sooner than the typical last Sunday of the month.

Happy Friday!

This past Sunday we had another successful free clinic event.

Remember from now on, you can expect to have *free* urgent medical visit EVERY LAST SUNDAY of the month, from 2PM to 5PM at HENRY'S PLACE in Beaumont TX.

We remain grateful for our partnership with The Some Other Place /Henry's Place who provide the facility that we use to host this free clinic. Their facility makes it convenient for the homeless to seek medical care in a location that they're already familiar with and have easy access to.
