🩺🌟 Meet Our New Internal Medicine Resident — Dr. Shivam Patel 🙌💙

📚 Dr. Patel graduated from Smt. N.H.L. Municipal Medical College in India, where he built a strong foundation in Internal Medicine. He went on to complete his internship at SVP Hospital and Smt. SCL Hospital, caring for patients across both urban and rural communities.

💪 During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Patel stepped up as a frontline healthcare worker, providing critical care to patients in need. For his dedication and service, he was honored with the title of “COVID Warrior” by his city’s municipal corporation.

🔬 Following graduation, he expanded his skills as a clinical research trainee, contributing to projects focused on evidence-based medicine and improving patient care.

💙 Passionate about Internal Medicine, Dr. Patel is committed to continuous learning, advancing research, and delivering compassionate, high-quality care to every patient he serves.

🍛🏏 Meet Our New Internal Medicine Resident — Dr. Owais Khan 🙌✨

👨‍🏫 Fun fact: Dr. Khan says some people collect stamps, but he collects mentees! He loves teaching and mentoring juniors and always enjoys helping others grow.

🍴 A true foodie at heart, he can whip up a mean midnight biryani or dive into some experimental cooking. (Midnight snack, anyone?)

🏏 Weekend plans? Cricket! No matter where he is — even here in Beaumont — Dr. Khan finds a pitch to play. And when he’s not on the field, he’s spending quality time with his wife, whom he proudly calls the “real MVP.”

😅 He also considers himself a jack of all trades, always up for trying new things… though skydiving is still on his “someday” list.

💙 Why he chose Baptist: For Dr. Khan, this program felt like home. With family nearby in Texas and an interview experience that radiated warmth and support, he knew he belonged here. He was drawn to the friendly community, strong mentorship, and the perfect balance of support and autonomy in training — all of which will help him grow into a confident, compassionate physician.

🌍💪 Meet Our New Internal Medicine Resident — Dr. Muhammad Usama Khokhar 🩺⚡

🌎 Fun fact: Dr. Khokhar had the unique opportunity to grow up in three different countries — Pakistan, Canada, and Saudi Arabia! This experience gave him a global perspective, a love for diversity, and the ability to thrive in new environments.

🏏🏋️ Outside of residency, he’s passionate about sports — whether it’s cricket, football, or hitting the gym. Sports have shaped his outlook on discipline, perseverance, and always pushing past limits. When it’s time to relax, he enjoys diving into psychological thrillers that keep him thinking (and guessing) until the very end.

💙 Why he chose Baptist: For Dr. Khokhar, BHSET stood out for its excellent clinical training, welcoming community, and supportive learning environment. The diverse patient population and strong sense of teamwork make it the perfect place to grow into a compassionate, well-rounded physician.

🎭 Outside of medicine, she enjoys bringing her creativity to life through canvas painting, staying active with Bollywood and contemporary dance, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
