Choosing My Word for 2026: Alignment
As a new year approaches, I often choose one word to guide my heart and decisions instead of a long list of goals. Over time, these words have become markers of what God is teaching me in each season.
For 2026, that word is Alignment.
At first, I thought my word might be Prepare. That word stood out to me during a sermon and felt like a reminder to slow down and listen. But as I reflected on this past year, I realized God had already been doing the preparing.
This year was not about getting ready for more.
It was about becoming aware of what no longer fit.
Through Expand, God helped me see more, feel more, and recognize where my life, priorities, and boundaries were out of alignment. What followed was not preparation, but an invitation to realign what already exists.
Looking back, I can see how each word has built on the last:
2021 – Purpose
2022 – Learn
2023 – Connection
2024 – Consistency
2025 – Expand
Each one shaped the season I was in and quietly prepared me for the next.
Alignment, for me, means choosing peace over patterns, clarity over chaos, and obedience over urgency.
My prayer for this year is that alignment brings wisdom, peace, and direction as God orders each next step.
Romans 12:2 (NIV)
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
