The Inward Journey with Lauren Yates

The Inward Journey with Lauren Yates Guiding you towards cultivating conscious connections with your body, mind, heart, and soul. I love sharing what I’ve learned–it’s too good to keep to myself!

In my classes, you can find a blend of music, mantra, meditation, poetry, breath and spiritual inspiration with accessible, safe and mindful alignment based movement. I encourage students to tap into their inner wisdom, listen to the whispers of their heart, deeply relax into the practice and revel in the time they have dedicated for themselves. I believe that yoga is a fusion of the heart, spirit, mind and body. I hope to convey my love of the practice to everyone who participates in my classes. I draw from the Bhakti form of yoga, classical and Ta***ic philosophy, and love the ancient stories of the yoga tradition as a metaphor for our modern day lives. This practice is a lifelong journey that calls to my heart and soul. It has helped me come into deeper awareness with my self and live more intentionally. I have become more aware of the present moment and developed a greater sense of gratitude. My yoga practice has eased the transitions of my many moves and the fluctuations of life. It is my anchor, a steady touchstone that helps center, ground, and comfort me when I find myself in a new location or a new chapter of life. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University and have spent most of my adult years in education. I completed my yoga teacher training through Wild Lotus Yoga’s Soul School in New Orleans in 2016, hold a level 1 Reiki certification, and am a Chopra certified Primordial Sound Meditation Teacher. I am a world traveler and have lived in South Korea and various places in the US. I am also passionate about healthy whole food, my dogs and love spending time outside.

As we enter the darker season of winter, let yourself slow down and rest more🙏🏻

ASAP doesn’t always have to mean “as soon as possible.”

In our fast-paced world, we’ve been conditioned to think that everything must happen quickly. The world screams at us with an unending urgency of deadlines, notifications, and to-do lists.

But what if ASAP could take on a different, more mindful meaning?

🪷 As Slow As Possible: honoring the natural rhythm of life, rather than rushing through it.
🪷 As Soft As Possible: approaching ourselves and others with gentleness instead of force.
🪷 As Sustainable As Possible: making choices that nurture long-term health for ourselves, our relationships, and the planet.
🪷 As Sincere As Possible: acting from authenticity, rather than obligation or expectation.
🪷 As Steady As Possible: cultivating consistency and balance instead of fleeting bursts of energy.
🪷 Allow Space and Pause: giving yourself permission to breathe, reflect, and just be.

ASAP can become a mantra for conscious living - a reminder that speed is not always wisdom, and urgency is not always necessary. Sometimes, the most powerful actions are the ones taken with care, presence, and intention.

So today, when you see “ASAP,” let it be your cue to slow down. Which of those versions of ASAP listed above are your favorites? Tell me about it below!

And thank you to Tiny Buddha for always offering use beautiful new perspectives!

To my neighbors in the Grand Oaks/Spring/Woodlands area.....
I am offering yoga classes after school, at your school! I'll come to your campus and offer a class/week, so you don't have to go anywhere else.

Yoga is especially helpful for teachers:

1. Restore calm after long school days
Yoga lowers stress and helps you unwind so you can show up refreshed instead of drained.

2. Strengthen patience and emotional balance
A calmer mind means fewer reactive moments and more steady, compassionate responses.

3. Reduce physical tension from teaching
Ease tight shoulders, sore backs, and the constant on-your-feet fatigue that builds up during the week.

4. And more, like more restful sleep and improved immune systems.

Message me so that we can chat and create a class that would best benefit your staff and campus!

As I get settled into my new home and job, I feel the familiar pull to share my love of all things yoga.

At this time, I would like to work on a more personal level with individuals who are dedicated to deepening their yoga practice. I would love to add 2 or 3 private clients to my schedule.
If you-

-are interested in deepening your yoga asana, meditation, spiritual, or mindfulness practice
-have questions during group classes but never feel comfortable asking them
-are recovering from an injury/have limited mobility
-want to incorporate mindfulness practices into your daily life
-want personalized instruction for where you are at in your journey
-want quiet space for yourself each week to decompress and relax
-are living with neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, chronic health conditions, or autoimmune conditions and need to find specific relaxation tools that work for your unique needs

These are just a few of the many reasons why students love private instruction. Message me if you're interested and we can have a quick call to see if it's the right fit for both of us!
