After months of debating on what to call my counseling practice, I finally decided to honor my mother's memory with her favorite story and her request to be buried with a fork because she knew "the best was yet to come."
Always Keep Your Fork Counseling is beginning to become a reality. I have officially hit the 1/2 way point in my internship and I am beginning to look for a permanent building/house in the Vidor area for my office. Due to having limited days and times available in my supervisors office, I am already looking to rent additional space so that I can accommodate the growing number of clients that I already have. I couldn't have come this far without the support of my amazing supervisor, Shana Mercer and the encouragement of my family and friends. The thought of retirement after 30+ years and starting a new business is absolutely terrifying but an exciting opportunity as well.

This journey is so surreal and amazing. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate working under the supervision of Shana Mercer, M.Ed., LPC-S. I work a full time job during the day and do counseling on Monday evenings and Saturdays currently. I have learned so much already and I am just scratching the surface.
