JoAnne Gay Dishman School of Nursing wanted to share an unexpected get-together of former Lamar University cardinals. This was discovered last week at a training course on emergency procedures conducted by Harbor Hospice. During the lunch table discussion, they discovered that all of them earned their degrees from Lamar University or Lamar State College-Orange. It was really a pleasant surprise for all of them. We are as proud as they look! Thanks for sharing and caring!

Dishman School of Nursing undergraduate student Deidre Dages is conducting an exciting research study this summer! Her research focuses on diabetic management and barriers that may prevent access to medications or quality care. Individuals medically diagnosed as pre-diabetic or diabetic (type 1 or 2) can complete this survey to participate. Survey completion takes 5-10 minutes and can be accessed at the link below. After completion, a list of national and Southeast Texas resources is available that may provide assistance with education, discounted medication prices, and affordable visits to a provider. If you have any questions regarding this survey, please email me (ddages@lamar.edu) or my faculty sponsor, Ms. Lori Wenner (lasourdelli@lamar.edu). Consider passing this on to a pre-diabetic or diabetic in your life. Thank you in advance for your participation.
The following survey seeks to determine the relationship between socioeconomic status and access to quality diabetic care and management. Financial and educational resources are available at the end of the survey. By continuing with the survey, you consent to your responses being used for research p...
