"A patient who had been struggling under the weight of life’s pressures arrived at the hospital with significant burn injuries. During her assessment, Social Worker Terran Rogers, LMSW quickly identified concerns for the home environment. Acting with diligence and care, she immediately looped in local resources who confirmed the patient had no identified family, and Terran later learned from the patient herself that her home was uninhabitable.
Demonstrating compassion far beyond the expected call of duty, Terran continued calling pharmacies, APS workers, and medical offices to track down additional contacts and resources.
Eventually she found the administrator of a local nursing facility speaking with the patient. Terran immediately offered to assist with assessments, documentation, and anything needed. Overwhelmed with emotion, the patient turned to Terran and said through tears, “No matter what, you are sent from God. Even when I was mean to you, you kept helping me.”
In a room full of misty eyes, the administrator agreed to accept the patient and complete all necessary paperwork to ensure she would have a safe, supportive place to go."
This remarkable act of service, compassion, and persistence is a direct reflection of the character and dedication of Terran Rogers, LMSW. Her compassion transformed what began as a heartbreaking crisis into a moment of profound hope and safety for a patient who had nowhere else to turn.
