Scoliosis is a condition that causes a sideways curvature of the spine, most commonly developing during adolescence. While mild cases may go unnoticed, more severe curves can lead to discomfort, reduced mobility, and long-term health complications if left untreated.

Early detection is key.
Scoliosis is typically diagnosed through a physical exam and confirmed with imaging tests like X-rays. During a routine screening, a healthcare provider may perform the Adam’s Forward Bend Test, which can reveal abnormal spine curvature or uneven shoulders or hips.

Yes, but we only require bloodwork for those who are 60 years and older.

Blood tests measure kidney function and are often required before a scan with intravenous contrast. This test ensures that your kidneys are healthy enough to filter the contrast. The tests are usually blood urea nitrogen and serum creatinine, and you should complete them within 30 days before the exam. We also require glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) levels.

Stroke is the #3 cause of death in women, and black women face an ever greater risk.

Stroke risk increases for women who are pregnant, experience preeclampsia, take birth control pills, use hormone replacement therapy, and experience migraines.
