We believe in protecting every woman in our community. Cervical cancer is highly preventable, and we have two powerful tools to keep our daughters, sisters, and neighbors healthy:

Early Protection for Our Youth: Parents, schedule a conversation with your pediatrician or family doctor about a crucial, age-appropriate step available for your teenagers and young adults (both daughters and sons). This discussion can unlock lifelong health protection and drastically reduce future risk.

Regular Screenings: For women aged 21 and older, routine Pap tests are non-negotiable. These simple screenings are the best way to catch changes early, when treatment is most effective.

Prevention is key to a healthier future for all of us. Please take the time today to discuss both of these critical health steps with your provider.

We get it, sometimes you need help sleeping, but long-term or frequent use of medications like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can actually have negative effects, especially as you get older.

Fact: There are non-drowsy, non-habit-forming options for many issues. Before you reach for it again, ask your doctor or one of our board-certified ER staff for safer alternatives. Your brain will thank you later!

In a new review, experts call for the removal of diphenhydramine from over-the-counter and prescription markets in the United States, saying it’s outdated, dangerous and eclipsed by safer alternatives.

This November is National Diabetes Month. Living in Southeast Texas, we know managing diabetes is a reality for many families. It's often called a 'silent' epidemic, but the risk for heart attack, stroke, and other complications is very real.

Did you know? Simple choices can make a huge difference. Swapping sugary drinks for water, and adding a 30-minute walk to your day are great first steps.

If you have a loved one managing diabetes, what’s one small, healthy habit your family has adopted to support them? Share your tips to inspire others!

Today, on Veterans Day, Beaumont Emergency Hospital pauses to honor the service and sacrifice of our community's veterans. Your courage, duty, and commitment to our nation are the bedrock of our freedom.

To every veteran, thank you. Your dedication, both on active duty and in your civilian lives here in Southeast Texas, does not go unnoticed.

Did you know that Port Arthur marked the end of World War I with such an explosive celebration (barrages from a cannon) that it reportedly broke half the windows in the downtown area?

On this date, November 7, 1957, Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana experienced one of the worst tornado outbreaks in our history. Multiple powerful tornadoes struck, tragically taking lives and devastating communities in Beaumont, Groves, Orange, and surrounding areas.

Today is a solemn reminder of nature's power and the resilience of our community. We remember those who were lost, and honor the spirit of the Golden Triangle that always comes together to rebuild.

Safety Message: Please take a few minutes this week to review your family’s severe weather plan. Where is your safe room? Knowing the answer can save a life.
