Services are Saturday, Apr. 11, 2026, Paradise Baptist Church 4390 Fannett Rd. Beaumont, TX. Visitation will begin at 1PM until Funeral at 2PM. Interment will begin at Live Oak Cemetery Beaumont, TX.

Wallace Jerome Franklin, Jr., was born on July 16, 1986, to Betty Morris and Wallace Franklin, Sr. of Beaumont, Texas.

Wallace graduated from Ozen High School and then attended Butler Community College in Eldorado, Kansas, where he earned his Business Degree and later moved to Iowa, where he played football for Iowa State University.

Wallace later moved to Fulton, Missouri, to pursue a career as an Executive French Chef in one of the finest restaurants in Fulton. His dedication to the quality and presentation of his cuisines were honored and remembered as being intentional, disciplined, and unmatched. His work spoke for itself. He gave great attention to the detail and quality of his exquisite work. Pure culinary genius.

Wallace Franklin, Jr., also known as Lil Flap, was an individual who brought light into any space he stepped into. Wallace was more than an athlete who played for Iowa State; in fact, that was only a small percentage of who he was. Since he was a kid, he loved football, track, fishing, dancing, singing, and bowling. As time passed, he grew a strong passion for cooking, and for a significant period of his life, making a career of cooking was what he desired most. Above all, Wallace was a man who loved his family and had an even deeper love and care for his children.

Wallace is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Barbara Johnson and Selenna Franklin, his grandfathers, Billy Ray Franklin and Wilson Leday.

On March 26, 2026, Wallace took flight home, leaving to cherish his loving memories, his mother Betty Morris, his father Wallace Franklin, Sr., his sisters Stacey Morris, Jaqueline Warner (Charles, III), and Jaquisha Jackson. His sons, Jerome Jeremiah Franklin and Josiah Jireh Franklin, his daughters, Milahna Raine Franklin and Ariahna Willow, his nieces, Janiyiah Banks, Carrington, and Carmen Warner, his nephews Ke'Shawn Morris and Reginald O'Brien, and his great-nephew E'Shawn Morris, and a special friend, Christana Iyayi.

Her clients trusted her deeply, knowing their pets were in a nurturing, attentive, and loving environment.

Her absence leaves a profound void, but her light, laughter, wisdom, and generosity will forever live in the hearts of all who knew her.

The family invites all who were touched by Dawn's life to join in celebrating her extraordinary legacy by volunteering, participating in community service efforts in your community, rescuing animals, and deepening your faith walk with Christ.

Ray K. Segura 77 of Beaumont, TX: passed Mar. 23, 2026.

Services are Saturday, Apr. 11, 2026, at Our Mother of Mercy Sarah St. Beaumont, TX. Visitation will begin at 8AM until Funeral Mass at 10AM. Interment will be in Live Oak Cemetery Beaumont, TX.

Ray Kinley Segura, 77, was born in 1948 in Beaumont, Texas, the fourth child of Whitney Segura Sr. and Eva Segura. He was raised in the Pear Orchard community, where roots were deep, family was everything, and life was built on hard work and love. He attended Hebert High School and was part of the Class of 1967.

Ray worked side by side with his father and brothers in the family business, Segura Roofing Company. Known for his unmatched speed and skill, he earned a reputation as one of the fastest shingle nailers on his side of town. But beyond the work, beyond the labor, Ray was a man grounded in connection—especially with his brother Bird, his closest companion in both life and time, separated by only a year but bonded in a way that felt like a lifetime.

Ray lived with rhythm in his soul. He loved to dance—effortlessly, freely—and in 1969, he and Lenell captured that joy together, winning a dance contest at the VIP Club. That same sense of pride and presence showed in the way he carried himself—he loved wearing his hair in braids, and Fridays held a special place for him as he looked forward to Penny coming to braid his hair. It was a simple ritual, but one that brought him joy and kept him feeling like himself.

He loved to fight—carrying a toughness that spoke for itself—but those who knew him best also knew the quiet side of Ray. A quiet that, with just a little beer, would shift… soften… and turn into something more lively, a little more rowdy—always leaving room for laughter and stories that would linger long after the moment passed.
His faith anchored him. Ray attended Mass every Saturday until his health no longer allowed it, often riding his bike just to be there- a quiet but powerful testament to his devotion.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Whitney Segura Sr. and Eva Segura, and his siblings Mercedes, Redell, and Raymond (Spot).
He leaves behind a legacy carried in memory, in laughter, and in the lives of those who loved him. He is survived by his siblings Whitney Segura Jr., Dr. J.C. Segura Sr., and Brenda Segura; his sisters-in-law Lillie B. and Lenell Segura; and his sons Mervin Ray, Lil Ray, and McKinley Ray. He also leaves behind daughters-in-law who became part of his story, including Alicia (wife of Lil Mack) and Lativiya (wife of Mervin Ray), along with seven grandchildren who will continue to carry his name and spirit forward. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever cherish his memory.

Ray’s life was uniquely intertwined with his brother Redell in a way few can claim—they married identical twins, Margaret and Theresa DeVault, and lived next door to one another, creating a closeness between their families that went beyond blood and became something truly rare.
And in the quiet spaces of memory, their lives, the reflection of time shared with his in-law Puttie—moments filled with humor and ease. He would joke that one day they might feel so good they’d accidentally walk into the wrong house… a simple statement, but one that now echoes as a reminder of joy, of presence, and of the kind of life that did not take itself too seriously.

Ray Kinley Segura was strength and rhythm, quiet and fire, faith, and laughter—woven into one life that will not be forgotten.
