We had a blast at our Employee Picnic! This special event was all about celebrating our incredible healthcare team and showing our appreciation for the dedication, compassion, and hard work they bring every day. With great food and laughter all around, it was a day to remember.

Hearing you received excellent care means the world to us. Every patient and resident we serve is at the heart of what we do, and we deeply value all feedback that helps us continue to grow and improve. Thank you for trusting us with your care!

"This was the best hospital visit I have ever had. You have the highest quality staff, from doctors, to nurses, to nurse assistants, to blood drawers, to supervisors, to the cleaners, to the front desk...everyone of your employees is exceptional...friendly, competent, polite, helpful...whoever hires is also doing great. Thank you," said a patient after a stay in the Med-Surg unit at Marshfield Medical Center-Beaver Dam.

We recently awarded a $5,000 grant to Beaver Dam Loaves & Fishes for the purchase of a new Alto-Shaam Oven that increases the capacity and menu options for free meals provided to those in the community facing food insecurity. The grant is part of our Community Health and Community Benefit initiative in Dodge County.

In 2023, Loaves & Fishes provided an average of 557 free meals each Tuesday, and in 2024 that number increased to 702. Already in 2025, they have eclipsed 900 meals on several occasions.

“Our main goal is to ensure we have the capacity to serve everyone who wishes to receive our free meal,” said John Smedema, President. “We believe the number of meals needed to serve our community will continue to grow.”

Organizations interested in applying for funding as part of our fall cycle, which can range from $1,000 to $10,000, can do so at https://marshfieldclinic.smapply.org/prog/mmc-bd_community_health_grant/. Applications will be accepted through Sept. 16.

Congratulations to Maureen (Mo) Steil for being named our August Employee of the Month!

"Mo consistently goes above and beyond in her role as our bus driver," her nomination read. "Every time we take our residents on outings, she demonstrates not only professionalism but also genuine kindness and care.

"Mo is always attentive to the needs of our residents and their families, greeting everyone with warmth and patience. She doesn’t hesitate to lend a hand—whether that’s assisting residents as they board the bus, helping with walkers and wheelchairs, or making sure each destination is safe and accessible for everyone. These outings mean so much to our residents, and they would not be possible without her support and dedication. Her thoughtfulness and willingness to go the extra mile ensures that our outings are smooth, safe, and enjoyable for all."

Well done, Mo!
