Lots of planing today as the table sections made 10 passes. After 2 days of rest it will be “married” with domino joinery. It is beautiful!

After 2 days of rest out of the glue jig, the table sections made 10 trips through the planer today. We called in reinforcements as they weigh about 150 pounds each. Another 2 days of rest and then they get “married” together with domino joinery.

We started a project today that has nothing to do with caskets! These beautiful ash slabs once stood in Horicon Ledge Park and will become a conference table in the newly renovated Beaver Dam Public Library. Stay tuned for updates on our progress!

Working with wood every day reminds us that the natural world is both a gift and a responsibility. That’s why we proudly source our lumber from Wisconsin forests and build each casket and cremation urn with care, purpose, and respect for the earth.

We’re also committed to giving back by planting 100 trees in Wisconsin for every casket we make, and 10 trees for every cremation urn.

Mmmmm…. Walnut. Sorted, marked, cross cut, ripped, and in the glue rack by 9AM. Gonna be a good week. This will make tops and bottoms for our Cherry/Walnut Craftsman cremation urn. One of our most popular styles—the number of steps and processes involved in making them is impressive. From lumber selection to that final finish coat is buffed by hand.
