Thank you to all of you who have begun following my private practice page! Please feel free to share with others you may encounter in the area who may need speech therapy services.
To clarify the details of my practice:
1. Areas of expertise (focus of evaluation and treatment)-
---acquired neurological disorders in adults and older children, specifically stroke, traumatic brain injury, concussion, and other brain injuries.
---degenerative illnesses, such as ALS, Parkinson's and dementia; including voice/message banking services
---individuals of any age who are nonverbal or minimally verbal and need Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems/devices
---children and young adults with developmental disabilities, such as Down Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder
2. Sessions conducted in the patient's home or in the community. Telehealth is available.
3. Consultative services are available across all ages and needs, such as guiding families in locating and accessing services and supporting school, healthcare and community groups.
4. Professional presentations to community groups are available across the following topics:
---concussion/mild brain injury
---communication partner training (for caregivers/partners of those following stroke)
---supporting individuals with communications disorders
---health literacy training
---the field and scope of speech language pathology
---other
