We have been so incredibly grateful to have Alex, Georgia, Cianna, and Anna as a part of our amazing intern team this year. Although we won’t have the privilege of seeing them in the fall, we know the positive impact they have had on clients will continue to be appreciated and felt. 🤍🪴

According to a team of researchers, only about 8% of the things you worry about in your lifetime will actually come true, which means less than 1 in 10 things you stress about is worth it. Facts. Google it (actually don’t - if you’re an overthinker stay away from google and WebMD).

Why not choose a different topic to ruminate over? Like creative ways to express yourself or what your dream home would look like. Worrying is a misuse of your (very active) imagination so if you can imagine catastrophic events, you can imagine calming, uplifting ones, too.

If you’re someone who likes making lists (and even has lists for your lists), we know sometimes it can feel so overwhelming you don’t feel like doing anything you wrote down. A helpful idea is figuring out your top 3 priorities each day. If you get those done, anything else from your list is a BONUS and wow look at that - you’re doing EXTRA because you’re so amazing. Remember that you’re taking it one step at a time and you will get everything done in perfect timing. We believe in you. 🤍

Some of our feelings can seem over the top - overwhelming - chaotic - “too much” to feel. But remember your emotions are there as a guide, to alert you and bring your attention to moments that need to be recognized and processed. Don’t give up - keep doing your best to feel your feelings and use your tools when they become unmanageable. You’re growing and getting better even if you don’t yet see it. 🌳💕✨

Sometimes the simplest of reminders are the hardest. Instead of taking your anger, sadness, or numbness out on your body, write a letter of appreciation to one part of your body you have struggled to accept. Although self-harm is a coping tool, it’s a destructive and unloving one, and we know you are strong enough to find other more supportive, caring tools. We are here for you if you need help with that. 🌿🌻🌷✨

Our friend John certainly has a point. We can waste our time and misuse our imaginations or we can trust in the process and take it moment by moment. 🎸♥️

It’s not too late to carve out some “you” time this week - pick one from this list or stop by to grab a self-care assessment for a whole juicy list of self-care ideas. Tell your friend or roommate so they can help hold you accountable - or maybe they will join in even?! 💚🌿🧤🔋📗

Permission statement for this week: it’s okay to take time for yourself. Sometimes we fight it, sometimes we put it off or ignore it, and sometimes we purposefully avoid it. But part of caring for yourself is spending time getting to know yourself. And we think you’re pretty great. So take a few minutes this week to gently say no to doing and joyfully say yes to being. ✨
