🚨 New Public AED Installations Complete 🚨
This year, Brighton Township and the Fire Department developed a plan to make our automated external defibrillators (AEDs) accessible to the public 24/7/365. We have historically had them installed inside the concession stands at the ball fields and inside 2 Mile Run Lodge, but they were only available if the stands and Lodge were open.
With the help and hard work of the Brighton Twp. Road Department, we have installed 5 cabinets in the following locations:
-Dawson/Baker Field: on the side of the concession stand under the awning
-Ellis Field: on the side of the concession stand under the awning
-Hardy Field: on the side of the restroom building, facing the baseball field
-Two Mile Run Lodge: on the rear, covered patio of the building
-Brighton Twp. Road Garage, 1250 Brighton Rd (near the disc golf course, walking trail): on the side of the Road Dept Garage, facing the roadway to the disc golf course entrance
We will have additional signage installed soon to better direct the public to these locations.
In addition to the Township and its departments for their hard work and coordination, we would also like to thank Tec Electric Inc. for their services installing the electrical service for each cabinet as well as Learn 4 Life CPR for the donation of one of the AED cabinets.
These cabinets are climate-controlled, alarmed, under surveillance and send an instant alert to notify the fire and police departments upon opening of the cabinets. While these cabinets will alert emergency responders, this does NOT take away the need to call 9-1-1. Always call 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency to ensure the quickest and most efficient response.
While we hope these will never need to be used, we hope it better ensures the safety and well-being of our residents and visitors!
