The Greene Team Cloverbud & 4-H Club

The Greene Team is a Cloverbud and 4-H Club of Greene County, Ohio that is geared towards families with children of all abilities.

This is the community page for The Greene Team Cloverbud and 4-H Club. There is a separate private group for members of the club. We are a non-livestock club for the youth (ages 5-18) of Greene County, OH with all skill and ability levels. We meet once a month for club meetings, though we may add other dates for service projects or work days for individual or group projects. What is 4-H?
4-H is

learning by doing.
4-H is growing in loyalty.
4-H is helping others.
4-H is becoming healthier.
4-H is making goals.
4-H is following through.
4-H is leading others. Projects range from:
-small animal (cats, dogs, guinea pigs, etc)
-STEM (rockets, chemistry, computers, etc)
-life skills (sewing, cooking, first aid, etc)
-the arts (photography, visual arts, performing arts, crafts, etc)
-and anything else you can imagine.

If you are attending the fundraiser for the Violence Free Futures tonight , bid on our club dessert! The kids worked very hard to learn how to paint with colored chocolate.

Over the weekend, our members collected 2 pallets of donations for the Dayton Food Bank at Fresh Thyme Market. A big thank you to managers Joseph and Geneva for donating a basket of items (pictured below) to raffle off to a donator.

Our 4-H club is doing a casserole drive to support the local St Vincent de Paul homeless shelter. They go through at least 1,000 casseroles a month, with the need increasing over the winter months.

How can you help? Use your left over holiday turkey to complete the attached recipe for Turkey Tetrizzati and return the casserole to your favorite Greene Team member!

It is very important that you follow all directions, especially the recipe, so they will be accepted by the homeless shelter. Please label your casserole with the date it was prepared.

We have finished up a great fair and will soon be celebrating the 4-H year. Our new 4-H year will be starting up in September. If you are located in Greene County, Ohio and interested in more information, let us know.

The youth spent Sunday's meeting making desserts for the Spring Fling fundraiser for the Xenia Violence Free Futures organization. They will be auctioning off our basket of treats at a dinner Friday night, with 100% of the funds going to their group.

Our 4-H club will be collecting new pajamas to donate to Greene County Childrens Services. Some children come into Foster Care without any personal items, and this will help support some of the need.
Newborn through adult sized of brand new pajamas will be collected by the members between now and Dec 2. Please consider helping!

Our February service project is to join with BYC and collect new socks (any size) to be distributed to local youths when they get new shoes from Shoes for the Shoeless. Please help by donating to any of our club members!

We have been busy the last few months with guest speakers, field trips and service projects! There are a lot of new members and it is great to see renewed excitement for learning and serving.
We love 4-H!
