Meet Stephanie, a Doctoral-prepared Nurse Practitioner in our Cincinnati region. Stephanie loves that at Hometown; she has the opportunity to serve patients across both urgent care and primary care settings.
Stephanie’s journey in healthcare began 26 years ago when she started her career as a nurse. She shared, “Coming from a background where opportunities were not always readily available, I learned early that determination, faith, and hard work would be essential to reaching my goals. I was committed not only to succeeding for myself, but to building a legacy of service and opening doors for others. She goes on to say, “Representation matters in healthcare, leadership, and education — and I carry that responsibility with pride.”
Sephanie is driven by Shirley Chrisholm an inspirational leader who didn’t wait for permission to lead and whose words, “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair,” remind Stephanie that sometimes “we must create our own space — and then make room for others. Black History is American History, and it continues to fuel my commitment to advocacy, education, and service!”
Black History Month is “a time to intentionally reflect on stories that have not always been fully told, and to acknowledge the impact Black history has had on American history, as a whole. In healthcare especially, Black pioneers have broken barriers, advanced medical innovation, and paved the way for greater equity and access. Their courage and perseverance continue to inspire the work we do today,” Stephanie says.
Stephanie, we are lucky to have you on our team! Thank you for continuing to pave the way for black women in healthcare. You are an inspiration and true advocate!
