Dr. Becky’s 2nd volunteer trip to Bosnia to work with War Victims. Last and this year the most emotional day was to volunteer with r**e victims. Today, one of the ladies was only 13 years old when she was captured and sent to the concentration camp where she was r**ed for months. Those women found a way to move on, at least that is how we see it. Only they know how they actually feel. Only they know the pain they endured and the pain that is like their shadow. No treatment can take that pain away, or the terrible memories, but will provide a drop of relief to their physical pain. At least we can do that much.

Luna will be visiting the clinic often from now on. Please approach her gently as she doesn’t need any scary experiences. Puppies can take a fast hand movement pretty bad.

Dr. Becky with volunteers Mauro from Italy and Nick from UK in Sarajevo had the opportunity to work with civil war victims, concentration camp survivors and women war victims from the war that happened in 1990s in Bosnia. Second picture is a map of cities where systemic and r**es happened. It was estimated that over 50,000 women from age of 8 to 80 were r**ed during the war. Number of man is unknown as majority of them never came forward.
