For a church to be truly hosptiable and loving to families experiencing disability, this biblical truth has to be championed by leaders.

Following Jesus means welcoming those He welcomed. Churches can inadvertently but effectively close the door in the face of families experiencing disability. It's one of the major reasons why up to 50% of families experiencing disability don't attend church. Guidelight is here to help. Here are 3 simple ways you can open the door wide to these families:

1) If you see a person with a disability coming into your church, make eye contact with them and introduce yourself. Ask their family if they'd like to sit next to you in service.

2) Attend a Guidelight Training event in your area (keep your eyes peeled for registration information coming soon!). You'll gain theological understanding of God's heart for disability and practical tools for integrating families experiencing disability into your church body.

3) Support our work. Every day, Guidelight provides free training videos or on-the-ground help to churches all over the world. You equip more and more of the global church to be the hands and feet of Christ with each gift.

The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.”...If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.
-1 Corinthians 12:21, 26-27

"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well."

Who We Are

We pursue Christ-centered transformation in the lives of those impacted by disability. Our vision is to utilize our programs to fulfill our Mission through proclaiming biblical truth and providing needed Resources.

We envision the transformation of the lives of people impacted by disability through the Body of Christ engaging the disabled population worldwide with the gospel of Jesus Christ while providing needed physical and developmental resources.

Through the advancement of TEF North America and Global programs we create services for both the Church and the families and individuals we serve. These resources will broaden the awareness of the cause of the disabled nationally and globally. Out of this awareness we pray that we will be used to mobilize people to be on mission to serve the disabled populations of the world.

The Elisha Foundation seeks to engage, equip, and empower the Body of Christ to proclaim the gospel to those impacted by disability.
