Riley took three naps today.
Did not send a single email.
Still believes she is an absolute delight.

Be the dog.
Productivity is not a metric of worth. 🐶✨

🐾 Be The Dog Lesson from Riley WiseHeart

Today is National Dress Up Your Pet Day — aka another excellent excuse to play.

Dogs know something we forget:
play isn’t extra — it’s essential.

It resets the nervous system.
It restores energy.
It brings us back to ourselves.

Riley doesn’t ask if there’s time for joy.
She just shows up for it.

What would change if you did the same?

🐾 Be the Dog Reminder from Riley WiseHeart 🐾

When I’m about to try something new —
a new trail, a strange sound, an unfamiliar smell —
I don’t wait until I feel fearless.

I pause.
I sniff.
I take one step… then another.

Sometimes my tail wags.
Sometimes my ears stay back.

Both are okay.

Humans think they need certainty before they move.
Dogs know better.

Courage isn’t the absence of fear —
it’s staying present while you feel it.

🐾 Be the Dog.
Trust your pace.
Trust your knowing.
Take the next step when you’re ready.

Dogs don’t inherit emotional labor.
They don’t play roles they’ve outgrown.
They don’t carry the weight of the whole pack.

They show up as themselves—fully and honestly.

Be the dog.
Put down what was never yours to hold.

Riley says:
“If wearing a holiday scarf makes the humans smile, I’m all in.”

Be The Dog:
Do small things that bring joy — even if they’re a little goofy. Joy is contagious.

On this week's episode of Be The Dog...Riley shares some wisdom:

“Dogs don’t fear shadows — they explore them.
And once they realize it’s nothing to worry about, they move on.
Maybe that’s the wisdom we need today.
Look at your shadows with curiosity… not judgment.”

🍂 Be The Dog Wisdom — Thanksgiving Edition 🍂

If Riley could give you one piece of pre-Thanksgiving advice, it would be this:

Slow down and sniff the good stuff.
There’s always something to appreciate — a warm spot on the couch, the smell of dinner, the humans you love, the ones who love you back… even the tiny joys we usually trot right past.

Gratitude doesn’t have to be big or fancy.
It can be wag-sized.

So today, take a breath.
Notice one beautiful, ordinary thing.
Let your tail (real or imaginary) give a little wag.

Because gratitude isn’t a holiday.
It’s a way of being.

Riley’s Reminder:

Be sure to read my human's blog on epigenetics today and REMEMBER...

“You’re not stuck with the story you started with.”

Epigenetics teaches us that our experiences can shift how our genes express themselves.

Riley teaches us that a good nap, a warm lap, and trying again tomorrow can shift a whole life, even when you come from a long line of homeless animals living on the streets of Mexico!🐾😉💜

Small changes. Big healing. Lots of love. 🐶✨

Dog Wisdom

I was born for the work Judith (my person) does in her office. I am there to greet clients with love and acceptance and help everyone feel comfortable and at ease. During coaching or hypnosis, I go into my little bed and offer my quiet support (and my tummy to scratch) until the session is over.

I never bark, growl, or bite. I offer my love to both adults and kids. Judith says I am her angel dog — sent to her by angels. 💜🤗

I am a certified Emotional Support Dog and I’m also certified through Pet Partners. I just love my work, and the clients love me. I want to share my humble wisdom on this page and help others on their journey of wellness.
