New Moon in Leo on July 24, 2025
Our next New Moon takes place tomorrow on July 24, 2025 at 12:11 pm PDT at 2˚08’ Leo. The New Moon will be within a degree of an opposition to Pluto in Aquarius.

With the Sun in Leo, the New Moon naturally takes place in that sign. In the sky, this will be in the constellation of the Crab.

A Leo New Moon on its own is a fresh start of envisioning what you would like to create in the near term. This Moon imbues a radiant love upon us and we can work with that to shine a light into any shadow around us. It gives us a chance to really "see" who we are.

With the New Moon's opposition to Pluto in Aquarius (2˚36’), it can be even more important to see our own shadow and fears as well. Do we have the courage to look in the mirror of our truth? Can we speak from the heart? Are we brave enough to challenge ourselves with a vision that wants to be forged and not just live in our minds or hearts?

This Sabian Symbol adds to what was shared above. And it can be interpreted as a crisis in individual expression and identity along with the adaptation of what is expected of us. This can lead to conforming with society or fully embracing one’s unique creative identity.

With Pluto involved, it may take more energy on our part to show up for our individuation beyond the idea of just "fitting in".

Sun in Leo / Eris Stations Retrograde July 22, 2025

Today, the Sun ingressed into the sign of Leo and Eris stationed retrograde at 25°43’ Aries. Eris moves about 1/4 of one degree per year, so it is still very slowly moking its way through Aries and currently with Chrion.

The Sun in Leo means we are in the season of Leo! Leo is a strongly active and creative force in our lives. Leo wants to be seen in itself and/or its creations. Leo is a fiery and powerful archetype that is like the bonfire with dancing all around it. It just has to "be" and shine through its self-love and radiance.

The Sun will remain in the sign of Leo until August 22nd, then transitioning into the sign of Virgo (the last sign of summer in the North).

Eris' station point retrograde gives us the 4th planet going retrograde this month. Chiron will be the 5th one on July 30th.

The meaning of Eris stationing retrograde is a still point in our hearts and minds. We can feel into where we have spoken our truths while being truly heard not just by others by by ourselves as well. We can ponder what actions we've taken to support our voice and truth and if that in turn supports our mission.

Eris will station direct on January 11, 2026, at 24°37’ Aries.

Today, the Moon caught up with Venus and Hygeia for a triple conjunction between the 3 celestial bodies at 19°12’/13' Gemini.

It is a rare occurance when there are 3 or more planetary bodies in near exact conjunction or aspect with one another.

This alignment also squares the lunar nodes and the planet Mars (which was in conjunction with the South Lunar Node yesterday on July 20).

This triple conjunction emphasizes the wellness of our minds and imagination. We can work with this in creative activities and in communication with others. Since Mercury is also retrograde at this time in Leo (which sextiles this triple conjunction), it can be important to also reflect upon how we've cared for our imaginative expression and received nourishment for the mind.

Mars-South Node Conjunction on July 20, 2025
Mars arrives at a conjunction with the Moon's South Node at 19°38’ Virgo today, July 20, 2025. This typically takes place about once every 2 years.

This is about the past or more speicfically about what actions we may need to take to let go of attachments from the past. This is usually relating to things within us that no longer serve our soul's intent. It can be anything from unhealthy habits to beliefs that limit our soul's growth.

This can also relate to things from past lives or themes that have shown up in our current life that is in response to themes of the past life. It's usually something that is not entirely conscious in ongoing lives and lives in the deeper domain of the subconscious or unconscious.

On a basic everyday level, we can have a bit of introspection today to see what will we let go of that can ultimately benefit us and/or help us feel more joy in life.

With this conjunction in the sign of Virgo, it can be helpful to experience what is sacred to us, but it doesn't necessarily mean "religious" in nature nor is it simply nostaligia. It is typically something (not just material) that we hold inward with care and support that has meaning beyond traditional practice.

Tomorrow, July 21st, there is a triple conjunction between Venus, the Moon and the asteroid Hygeia at 19°12’/13' Gemini that squares the Mars-South Node conjunction. This is a very rare, almost exact conjunction, but all within 1 minute of one degree. More will be written about this tomorrow.

Mercury will station retrograde for the second time this year on July 17, 2025.

The Messenger planet will be stationing retrograde on July 17 at 9:44pm PDT at 15° 34’ Leo. The entire retrograde period will be within the sign of Leo.

Mercury is the fastest moving planet as seen from Earth. It can move through an astrological sign in about 2 weeks. Only the Moon moves faster through a sign (averaging 2 ½ days).

However, for the entire month of July, Mercury stays in the sign of Leo. This is due to Mercury stationing retrograde in this sign. This transit continues to open the fiery element with a brighter, intuitive visionary expression.

Mercury in Leo’s bold, solar perspective and mind enters a time of reflection and intensive creative period during the retrograde time. Mercury will remain retrograde until August 11 when it stations direct at 04° 14’ Leo.

It’s also a chance for greater self-exploration that may lead to deeper understanding of self-love and leadership within.

Mercury retrograde also is a time of focus upon creative expressions of the mind and activities. It doesn't mean we have to forego all plans and wait paitently for the planet to station direct. During this retorgrade period, it can help us make sure that our communications with others are followed up and then we take time to make sure we think a bit more deeply in how we respond/react to others.

What happened when Uranus entered Gemini on July 7? Venus' contribution

Events happen all the time and we are living in a time of greater acceleration of events, including weather and other Earth events. The planet Uranus tends to shift our consciousness through changes in perspective related to surprises and breakthroughs. All of this is coinciding with the Saturn-Neptune conjunction period as well.

Before Uranus entered Gemini, Venus went into a conjunction with Uranus on July 4, the 249th birthday of the US. That was the day the massive floods hit Central Texas causing catastrophic damage and casualties.

Back on the 3rd the Senate passed a major bill that has the potential to have a significant impact on American lives and run up the deficit to one of its largest amounts in the modern era and on the 4th/5th, Musk started a new politicial party.

On evening of July 7, where I live in Ashland, we got hit by a major thunderstorm that wasn't predicted ahead of time except a few hours prior to the event. This thunderstorm brought lots of lightning and dozens of fires were started across the region (even though there was rain too). Fortunately, the majority of the fires were small but one of them came close to the Ashland city limits before getting under control by hundreds of firefighters and aircraft.

Mount Lewotobi Laki Laki had one of its largest eruptions in Indonesia sending a plume of ash 18 miles into the atmosphere. Also on the 7th, anti-government protests in Kenya resulted in many casualties as well.

I share all of this because this is just a preview of the potential for this transit combined with the Saturn-Neptune conjunction period that is heating up now (and continues through 2026). Uranus will remain in Gemini for only 4 months, go back into Ta**us for close to 6 months before re-ingressing into Gemini on April 25, 2026.

Saturn Stations Retrograde / July 12, 2025
Saturn-Neptune Conjunction Period 2024-27
We've reached the closest point for Saturn nearly perfecting its conjunction with Neptune on July 12, 2025. Saturn is stationing retrograde at 01°56’ Aries Saturn while Neptune is at 02°09’ Aries, a difference of only 14’ or ¼ of 1 degree. The actual conjunction between these 2 planets won't occur until Feb 20, 2026.

While this station point of Saturn is a one-day event, the conjunction period lasts for about 3 years, which began its early indiciations in June, 2024.

Saturn and Neptune take 35 ½ years, on average to arrive at the next conjunction. In between there are 2 squares (waxing and waning) and an opposition that help us understand what issues and themes we may be facing – it takes place about every 8-9 years.

Since we are completing this 35+ year period, we are at a seed-point for the next 3 1/2 decades. The revolutions, idealogies and visions built back in the 1988-90 period are cycling through to another chapter while what was once there is decaying away. This conjunction period allows us an opportunity to co-create an entirely new course for humanity.

In this current timeline, Uranus, Pluto and Jupiter play key roles in their aspects in the full unfoldment of what this Saturn-Neptune conjunction is assisting us in shifting toward anew beginning

Saturn's retrograde period will go on until November 27 at 25°09’ Pisces. Saturn will regress into the sign of Pisces on September 1, 2025.

Full Moon on July 10, 2025
Our next Full Moon takes place at 18°50’ Capricorn at 1:37pm PDT on July 10, 2025. This Full Moon will be in the Archer constellation near the vane of the arrow and arm holding and aiming for the Galactic Center.

Working with this Full Moon is can sometimes be challenging. At its core, it is about the ancestral wisdom of our grandmothers and grandfathers of ages past all the way to our time. But in order to open up to the wisdom and knowledge, it is recommended that we let go of any overbearing burdens and guilt.

Also, if we value ourselves and what we are capable of, then we can balance the responsibility to self along with the responsibilities we have towards others. Self-worth is a component of self-love. Valuing self leads to being valued by those around us in the family, community and the world.

The Sabian Symbol, 19 Capricorn is “A Child of about 5 carrying a huge shopping bag filled with groceries”. The keywords include, “Being the one everyone counts onto do the job. Feeling weighed down. Fresh off Venus' conjunction with Uranus, we've reached the edge of a new beginning with Uranus as it ingresses into the sign of Gemini on July 7, 2025. This is the last of the major outer planets to ingress into a new sign since November, 2024. As of tomorrow, Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter, Neptune and Pluto are in new signs. This is exceedingly rare for all of them to ingress into new signs in a relative short span of time.
