This is an amazing class that will be taught online so you can take it anywhere! Hypnobabies has brought me so much peace and reassurance in my body and it’s ability to birth. No matter where or how you plan to birth this class has something for you!

Did you know that the umbilical cord can be inserted in different places on the placenta? While most attachments are near the center of the placenta occasionally we get some amazing cord placements 😍 this placenta has a velamentous cord insertion which is a variation of normal but we don’t see it often!

••• What is a lotus birth? •••
“It's practice, through witnessing, restores faith in the natural order. Lotus Birth extends the birth time into the sacred days that follow and enables baby, mother and father and all family members to pause, reflect and engage in nature's conduct.” (Lotusbirth.net)
••• What are the benefits? •••
-More blood to the baby, just like any sort of delayed cord clamping, the longer baby and placenta are attached, the more blood the baby gets back.
-A more gentle transition from womb side to earth side.
-A reminder to mama’s to let their bodies heal. When baby is attached it makes leaving the house a bit more complicated. A lotus birth can be a wonderful reminder for new mamas to allow time to heal.
••• What are the downsides? •••
-You cannot do a lotus birth and eat your placenta! For this reason, some moms choose to do a partial lotus by leaving baby connected as long as possible before doing a gentle burning of the cord to separate baby from placenta.

Did you do a lotus birth? What was your experience? We loved this beautiful placenta bag and how calm baby seemed in the immediate postpartum. It was very much a gradual and peaceful way to join his family earth side.

Just as each fruit has its season and individually ripens on its own time, so does the female body in preparation for childbirth.

No two women carry a baby, dilate, efface, or birth in the same way, but that is what makes the process so beautiful.

If we can remember that we do not birth by numbers, but that our bodies know perfectly how to bring our babies into the world, we can better avoid the cascade of interventions.

The more knowledge we have, the more empowered we can become, and we are more easily able to take responsibility of our birthing time.

How beautiful the world will be when women and their care providers can remember that, like fruit, each pregnancy also has its own season for ripening, and that most of the time, when we leave it be, it can do so perfectly.

Ru: The va**na! The va**na!
Daddy: Yes Ru, what about it?
Ru: Baby come out va**na! Placenta out va**na too!
Daddy: *laughing* Yes Ru, that’s absolutely right. -a few seconds later- Ru are you eating the placenta?? *laughing even harder*

~Three months~

I have been putting off this post for a while, because while it excites me, it also breaks my heart. Oregon is where I found myself and my passion. It is where my tiny dreams became gigantic and boisterous, bursting from within me. Oregon is where Breathe was brought to life.
•And now, it’s time to go. •

My beautiful little family and I will be taking off on an adventure of travel for the next year starting in May!

Once that adventure is over, we will have BIG plans and changes coming for Breathe! I’m excited, you’re excited, we are all excited!!

So now that it is out there, book with me! I am filling up quickly, so booking soon will ensure your spot! I am offering one more Hypnobabies class, a few more births, as many placentas as possible, and a limited amount of photo sessions!

Also take note that I am available to do destination photo sessions while on my trip, and if we happen to be in town for your birth I will 100% attend!! ;) If you want to follow our adventures follow ♥️ and otherwise keep up with all things Breathe here!

Hey everyone! Happy 2019! I am both so excited and so very sad to enter this momentous year! My sweet little family and I are taking off on a trip of a life time starting in May. We will be leaving our beautiful home in Oregon and traveling around the United States for a year in our teardrop camper! This is such an exciting adventure for us, but I am sad that it will lead to some big changes with Breathe. So... here are things to know:

—I am taking any and all clients that I can until April 15th! If you want a photo session or birth work done with me, the time to book is NOW!
—Morgan Shipp will be taking over Breathe as far as Placenta Encapsulation and Doula care goes from May 1st on. She is amazing and I feel like I couldn’t be leaving it in better hands. Robin Cole Nunez will still be teaching Hypnobabies PDX classes and she’s incredible. As for other services, message me about them and I will 100% refer you to people I trust and love!
—I will take clients on the road, especially photo sessions. One of my hopes is to take my sessions to the next level by doing destination sessions in gorgeous spots! If you want to book, message me now, as we are only in each state briefly.
—There IS a future for Breathe, and it is bright! I have big plans for my reopening in the next place we make home, and I cannot wait to share them with you all, the only thing I will spill now, is that these next plans revolve around me attending Midwifery School, so I am hoping to enroll the fall after we finish our travels!
—Lastly I just want to say thank you! Thank you to each and every single one of you who has hired me and supported me and wrote the most kind reviews. I couldn’t do this without you! I so hope you’ll continue to support me until we have to say goodbye. I am so grateful you’ve all been in my life and I so hope we cross paths again!

To cut it short, I would LOVE to work with any and all of you one last time. Tell your friends, share with your family, and support me just a few more times as we head out on our grand adventures!

My favorite cord keepsakes to date! This umbilical cord was super long and beautiful to work with! 😍

As a placenta encapsulator I have noticed huge differences in blood content from babies that had delayed cord clamping and babies that didn’t. Did you know that when your baby is born 1/3 of their blood is still in the placenta? By delaying clamping and allowing the cord to keep pulsating you give the placenta time to return the blood back to baby. This gives babies a great start to life and can help with jaundice, and provides a rich supply of stem cells! It is the difference of 3-5 minutes and it can be life changing for your baby.
