I worked at an FD today and they shared this brief video with me. It is a tearjerker as it rings so true about the potential impact of the work. I highly recommend.

As before, it offer practical strategies for cumulative trauma, burnout, relationship issues, & other threats to first responder resilience. The cover photo honors the service of a former coworker, Billy Randolph, who lost his life to a drunk driver after 29 years of service. The book is available for pre-order, using the link below. We're happy to announce the addition of another great clinician to our team. Lee Bartholomew understands the unique challenges of being a first responder as he is an experienced police officer, including time as a military police officer, and a peer support team member. He is trained in Acute Stress Adaptive Protocol and is an instructor for Responder Strong's Mental Health Curriculum. He sees clients on Mondays & Tuesdays and accepts most insurance and EAP plans.

Delays in clinician availability or help-seeking stigma often leave peer team members supporting a struggling peer. Peer members who are trained and experienced in trauma/ grounding exercises are better equipped than those who take the passive, listening only approach when more is needed. I've seen it be a strong bridge to assist a struggling first responder until professional help is accessed. Equip your peer team members with this rewarding skill (and more) with the Acute Stress Adaptive Protocol (ASAP). Current offerings in Bellevue, WA and Concord, CA.

ASAP Training events posted here. If no events are seen, then please check back for our next posting. Visit our website at asap-training.com

Attention Oregon Peer Supporters, Chaplains & First Responder Clinicians: I am offering the Acute Stress Adaptive Protocol (ASAP) course in Salem Dec 16-19th. ASAP is an EMDR-informed protocol for FIRST RESPONDERS and can be used with groups or individuals. It was created FOR first responders BY a former first responder. It has been a game changer for peer supporters who are hoping to better help their peers. I have used the protocol several times, myself, and also find it to be incredibly helpful. Early bird rates through November 1. Registration link is below.
