Members Linda and David had their last official session at Elevation this last week, with their move from Portland to Eugene complete. It’s been awesome of the last few years to see the fitness journey go from “where do we start?”…to chasing strength performance, learning about training for resiliency and longevity, and unlocking the confidence that the body is not fragile and can Do cool s**t via weight training💪😎.
Gonna be sad not having them around as they’ve become a huge part of the community, but they’re gonna be in good hands in Eugene👊.

Super proud of this team! They once again relentlessly put in the work for months leading up to this meet. Through some ups and downs and mixed emotions, you’ll notice everyone has a first place medal around their neck😉. The reality is that when you get really strong for a long time, you get to push the boundaries on the platform, and they went for it💪.

IPL Worlds official Meet recap is as follows: Erica is really strong, so she showed up and lifted really f’n heavy weights.
Ok for real though, super proud of .ediger for an amazing performance on a BIG stage. Really great athletes tend to make you look pretty good as a coach.
I’m honored anytime anyone puts their trust in me for ANY goal…and especially psyched to be able to go on her journey to climb the ranks in competitive powerlifting.
Not even a full year into powerlifting😳, can’t wait to get back to the grind and see what the future has in store😎. Thank you for trusting the process and putting your faith in me as your coach👊.

It’s less sexy than lifting heavy weights and hitting new PR’s….but PROPER mobility training is crucial for both enhancing your exercise program or sport and in general being a pain free functioning human. (“Proper” meaning swinging your arms around a few time before you bench is not mobility training)
Here Coach .d.weaver has and spending some extra time and attention on Hip and Shoulder CAR’s (Controlled Articular Rotations), designed not only to “bulletproof” your joints but also enhance the presses and lunges coming up.
It might not look intense, but when is in the program it’s typically the hardest thing you’ll do that day!

Like many things, coaching has an art and a science to it. We love nerding out on the science…the intricacies of program design, periodization, biomechanics, etc. But there is a more complicated flow chart on the “art” side…communication, creating buy-in, meeting someone where they’re at, knowing that everyday is different, everyone is different, and success comes in many different forms.
We take a lot of pride in navigating all of that to help our members reach their version of success. Today that came full circle and all of our members helped me! To be honest, everyone’s approach to their workouts all this week inspired the sh*t out of me!
This is a 390 lbs Deadlift from today. It’s not really about the number. It’s less than I did in my competition in September. Deadlifting heavy isn’t as aligned with my goals as it was earlier in the year. I tried this weight one week ago and couldn’t lift it.
I came in to work today not planning on working out, already kind of mentally bailing on my last Deadlift day of the year, convincing myself it was fine to just move on.
And it probably would have been…until I saw member after member smash PR’s all week on weights THEY have failed at before, Fail on PR attempts and brush it off to tackle the next one…and just all around approach fitness the right way! Again…”The right way” can mean different things to different people😉.
So even though this post is a video of me Deadlifting….it’s really a huge THANK YOU to all our members for making Elevation Fitness & Performance so special, putting your trust in us, and no doubt inspiring people you don’t even know you’re inspiring!

Are you bloated all the time? The answer could be simple! READ YOUR LABELS and check the ingredients. Read on for the best advice I can give ANYONE!
Artificial sweeteners (listed in the post) have been shown in research to have the ability to alter the composition of our gut bacteria, which can lead to unfavorable imbalances, overgrowths etc. This leads to uncomfortable gas, bloating, pain and more.
Sugar alcohols (listed in the post) are not absorbed in the gut! Therefore, they travel through the entire GI tract and pull water into the colon. Why is this bad? Because no one wants to feel the bloat, gas and even diarrhea. No thank you!
Food gums are sneaky! There are in almost everything we consume from a package. While these foods are convenient, the food gums are LITERALLY a pain in the gut. They move through our digestive tract without being absorbed and have the potential to change our gut bacteria.
Protein powders can be ultra-convenient, especially for active individuals. What’s not convenient is the potential side effects they cause to our digestive tract. Not only are many of them difficult to digest because of how they are processed, but they are extremely high in heavy metals. Vegan proteins are particularly high in heavy metals! So be careful.
My best advice…
CHECK YOUR LABELS FOR THE INGREDIENTS LISTED IN THIS POST! Save the post and share it! When choosing your food, choose ONE INGREDIENT WHOLE FOODS and be patient with your gut. Every body is different, and has different tolerances for all of these substances.
Check your toothpaste, gum, bread, oatmeal packets, crackers, chips, ice cream, diet products, protein bars, protein powders, pastas, salad dressings, mints, vitamins, water enhancers, drinks, KETO everything, low-carb everything. READ EVERY LABEL and educate yourself.
