Asch-Ash Family Reunion

Asch-Ash Family Reunion Samuel and Katharina Asch Farm, Beaverton, Michigan

The Asch-Ash Family Reunion will be celebrated on Sunday, August 14, 2011, at John Burke's farm in Beaverton, Michigan. The farm, built in 1917 and 1918 by Samuel and Katharina Asch, has earned the Centennial Farm status in Michigan, so the reunion is a double celebration. Samuel and Katharina had 11 children, so there are many of us in the large Asch/Ash family to enjoy this special gathering.

President Trump signed the legislation! It’s official!

This morning, I called David and Peter Asch, the sons of Colonel Alfred Asch, to let them know that last night President Donald Trump signed into law my legislation renaming the post office in Beaverton in honor of their father.

It was a fitting moment for the 77th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Colonel Asch had enlisted earlier that year and during the war he flew more than 60 combat missions. He served in the military until 1968 and later in life, he wrote "The Whole Nine Yards" about his life of service. Proceeds from book were contributed to the Beaverton Activities Center because Colonel Asch never forgot where he was from. This special honor will help his legacy be remembered for generations to come.

A great tribute to Uncle Alfred Asch!

“Colonel Asch was an American hero and it has been wonderful to lead this special effort honoring him as a proud son of Beaverton,” said Congressman Moolenaar. “He bravely flew missions during World War II, helped develop post-war civilian flight practices, and never forgot where he was from, ...

Photos from the Asch-Ash Family Reunion today, 8-13-17, at the Oesch/Asch/Burke farm. A great time had by all! John gave a few plane rides to add to the fun. Approximately 62 in attendance. The farm was a Centennial Farm in 2011, and the house itself is 100 years old this year. John and his sister, Brenda, worked hard to restore the house to better than its former glory. It's beautiful! Hi Relatives!

A big birthday event is happening this August! Grandpa and Grandpa Asch's house is 100 years old this year! The farm has been a Centennial since 2011, but the house just joined the honor, since it was built later.

John Burke has been renovating the house to its former glory, and better. Sister Brenda has helped him tremendously also. John's wish was for one more family reunion, so the Asch/Ash relatives can celebrate the house's 100th Birthday and enjoy the restoration!

The Asch/Ash Family Reunion will be held Sunday, August 13, 2017, at the farm, 2857 Blades Rd., Beaverton, MI. Gather at 11:00 am, eat at 1:00 pm. Bring a main dish plus one side dish to share and your own table service. There will be music, family history, crafts, games, horse shoes, plane rides!

Flyers will be in the mail shortly, however, the address list is quite out of date. Please pass this information on to other family members, so all can be reached.

Hope to see you there for a day of family fun! 💗🎂🍰🎉🎊❤️
