It's summertime and we're seeing more foxtails than ever! ⁠

These barbed grass seeds can lead to painful injuries and infections, so it's important to closely check your pets after each trip outdoors. Pay special attention to foxtail-prone areas including paw pads, ears, and the belly/groin/armpits. ⁠

If a foxtail has started to burrow into your pet's skin, contact your veterinarian as soon as possible to help safely remove it and clean the area to prevent infection. ⁠
