Researchers believe that giving birth in an upright position can benefit the mother and baby for several physiologic reasons. Physiologic refers to a healthy body’s normal function. In an upright position, gravity can help bring the baby down and out.
Upright positioning also helps the uterus contract more strongly and efficiently and helps the baby get in a better position to pass through the pelvis.

Society is slowly getting better about encouraging and supporting breastfeeding; however, America has truly failed mothers and babies over the years. Breastmilk is the ideal food for infants (aside from rare instances). It is safe, clean and contains antibodies which help protect against many childhood illnesses. Breastmilk also provides all the energy and nutrients that infants needs for the first months of life, and it continues to provide up to half or more of a child’s nutritional needs during the second half of the first year, and up to one third during their second year!

As I await my certification, I am actively working on my business! I will offer courses and one on one sessions upon receiving my certification. Follow along for lots of great info in the meantime!

Here are 9 ways society is failing mothers and babies ⬇️

for any moms wanting to breastfeed:
•your milk does not come in until 5-7 days AFTER birth. until your milk comes in you will produce something called colostrum which is enough to fill your baby up because their stomachs are so tiny.
•if your baby is wanting to nurse ALOT (even every 15 minutes) that is not an indication that your baby is starving. your baby is cluster feeding which is their way of telling your body to produce more milk & it is completely normal. LET THEM DO THIS. ITS IMPORTANT FOR YOUR SUPPLY.
•YOUR BABY CAN GET MUCH MORE MILK OUT THAN A PUMP CAN
•your breastfed baby will most likely never drink over 4-5oz at a time because your milk changes with the baby.
•pumping 2-4oz at a time is not an indication of low supply, it’s completely normal. - anything more would be considered an over supply.
this is just some of the things i wish someone would have told me when i started breastfeeding jaxson. 🤱

So many things in this image I love. How Ash naturally sat giving herself optimal room for baby. I love the floating vernix, I love the purple line in the butt crack. I love those lips + how you can see the head poking out at all angles. I especially love that held the birth mirror for me to get the best angle.
