Today, we pause to honor and remember an incredible member of our Young at Heart Games family, Gerald “Jerry” Stewart. ❤️
Jerry passed away at the age of 99, leaving behind a legacy that perfectly represents what our games are all about, strength, spirit, and living life to the absolute fullest.
At 97 years old, Jerry competed in the Bedford County Young at Heart Games… and not just competed… he won medals in two events and proudly earned the “Spirit of the Games” award. 🏅
He was the oldest participant in our history, and he showed all of us what it truly means to stay young at heart.
Jerry wasn’t just a participant… he was a symbol of everything we believe in:
✨ Staying active
✨ Finding joy in every moment
✨ Building friendships at any age
✨ Proving that life doesn’t slow down, it just gets better
We are so grateful that Jerry was part of our story. We promise to continue honoring his legacy every time someone steps onto that field, picks up a game, or decides to say, “I’m not done yet.”
Please keep his family in your thoughts, and if you’d like to honor Jerry, his family has asked for donations to support the Young at Heart Games, something he truly loved; and we couldn’t be more grateful.
Rest easy, Jerry. You showed us all how it’s done. ❤️
