The Spring Oak girls try Bedford businesses part 3!

✨ We had the most wonderful visit at the Bedford Area Welcome Center today! The moment we walked in, the Festival of Trees completely stole the show, each one decorated with so much creativity and heart. 🎄✨ It’s such a beautiful way to showcase the spirit of our community this time of year.

One of the highlights was getting the chance to spend time talking with Nicole Johnson. She was so warm and welcoming, and you can truly feel how much she cares about sharing Bedford’s history and upcoming events. We had a great conversation about everything happening in the community, the work that goes into the festival, and how the Welcome Center plays such an important role in connecting people, whether they’re lifelong locals or first-time visitors. Her passion and kindness made the experience even more meaningful.

And to round out the day, we stopped by Hados Lebanese food truck parked outside, which was delicious, and even better knowing it’s a veteran-owned business. 🇺🇸

Feeling grateful for this community and the people who pour so much into it. 💛

A founding member of the National D-Day Memorial has passed away, but her commitment to her community will not soon be forgotten.

We’re working hard over here to bring you Christmas joy on December 5! Over the past few weeks, our Executive Director Skye, her family, and a handful of volunteers have been getting out the pieces freshly painted by the Bedford Get Together group. Today, Cove Mountain Tree Service saved the day by helping us hang our lights on the higher places we can’t reach on our ladders!

We are excited for year one of our five year plan in coordination with Bedford Get Together to revamp the Christmas lights to match the status they once were. This year, you will notice almost all the props are painted and pieced back together (aside from the gingerbread house, we are still working on it for 2026!) and some more lights than the previous year. Each year we plan to grow and grow. Enjoy seeing the project develop for years to come! Merry (almost) Christmas, our sweet town of Bedford!

When visiting Thaxton Baptist Church, we noticed they had an angel tree up for our residents! The Bedford community cares about our residents and we could not be more thankful. Thank you to TBC and all the organizations who have reached out to make our residents’ holidays so joyful!

Traditions mean a lot to us here at Spring Oak Bedford, and Christmas time at The National Elks home is filled with it. 🎄

We partnered with Bedford Get Together this year to help restore the Christmas lights for this season and for years to come. We’ve had dozens of volunteers put in countless hours of work, and time is counting down until we unveil the Christmas lights!

We hope you can join us on December 5th at 5:30 to kick off the Christmas tradition of the lights at the National Elks Home. We will have hot cocoa, Carolers from Little Town Players, and I heard Santa himself is going to make an appearance!
