what preeclampsia is?

It’s a complication of pregnancy that causes high blood pressure and signs of organ damage. Even if your blood pressure was previously in the standard range, you can still have preeclampsia and, if left untreated, it can lead to serious — even fatal — complications for both the mother and baby.

If you’re pregnant, check in often with your doctors so they can monitor your condition and catch any signs of preeclampsia as early as possible.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), high blood pressure affects nearly 119.9 million adults in the United States.

High blood pressure happens when your blood pushes too hard against your artery walls. It may not cause any obvious symptoms but, if left untreated, it can cause big problems like heart disease, stroke and kidney issues.

If you have concerns about your blood pressure, seek help from your doctor. They can give you advice and treatment options to meet your needs.

Molina Healthcare of Texas Moms’ Club has become one of our legacy programs, helping connect moms and families with valuable community resources, educational opportunities and supportive experiences.

This April, Moms’ Club events focused on the connection between nutrition, mood, energy, and daily focus. Participants learned how healthy food choices can support emotional wellness, attention and child development while also receiving baby supplies and other helpful resources.

Based on participant feedback, many moms shared how grateful they were for the support provided and how much more confident they feel in choosing foods that help promote healthy learning, growth and overall well-being for their families.

May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, a time to honor the rich traditions, cultures and contributions of AANHPI communities.

Many AANHPI cultures emphasize family connection, respect for elders and balance in mind, body and community well-being — values that align closely with whole-person health. At Molina Healthcare, we are committed to honoring those perspectives by delivering care that reflects the needs and experiences of the communities we serve.

This month, we celebrate heritage while continuing our work to strengthen trust, improve access to care and support healthier communities.
