A “bird’s eye” or vertex view of your baby’s head can tell us a lot. Is the flat spot more on one side than the other? across the back? Is there any ear shifting or asymmetry at the front of the face?

These are some of the most common observations that bring babies to my office with head shape concerns.

Here is what you need to know:

✨Noticing it early matters. It is NEVER “too early” to come in for an assessment. I see many infants that are only weeks old, and have even done an assessment at the hospital before baby even went home.

✨The sooner we start treatment, the shorter the length of treatment. Babies respond really well to strategic repositioning, purposeful motor play (not just tummy time 🙄), and hands-on treatment. But it is so much easier on everyone if they are younger.

If you’ve been staring at your baby’s head wondering “is that normal?” — this is your sign to reach out.

Playful Progress Pediatric Therapy💜 is a specialty practice that sees infants with head shape concerns EVERY DAY. We offer free discovery calls so you can share your concerns and feel 💯 about working together. There’s really no reason to wait 🙌

Why is there a rainbow in my logo, you ask!? 🌈

Because babies, like rainbows, are the ultimate symbol of new beginnings. Magic right from the start ✨

And, with the right support at the right time, even the toughest start can lead somewhere really beautiful. ✨

On a personal note, both of my girls have always loved rainbows. 🌈 I’ll never forget the first time Lily saw one 🤩 and my Hannah still arranges all her things in rainbow-order (as you should 😉)

Not every pediatric PT is confident treating infants. 🤔
There is nuance in infant treatment that requires additional education and experience for success. Babies aren’t just tiny adults, they are their own unique beings with systems that are so closely connected. To better understand your amazing babies👶🏽❤️, I have invested my energy, heart, hours, and hard-earned dollars into multiple infant-specialty trainings. Since opening Playful Progress, I have spent over 250 hours learning from the ✨best of the best✨ in the baby therapy world, diving deep into tongue ties, torticollis, tummy time, and how everything is truly connected.

The more I learn, the more I want to know. 🤓

Have questions about these trainings and mentorships? I’m happy to answer them!
