Ummm...yeah if this is you, go on ahead and book that appointment to see me!
I tell my clients that the majority of the pain they feel in their bodies come from 2 things....the positions your body is in while asleep at night and the positions you are in while working. We spend around 8 hours asleep and 8-12 hours at a job. That's 2/3rds of your day!
So, how do we combat the pain?! Paying attention to your posture, making small changes like the ergonomics of your workstation (computer screen at eye level, a standing desk, foot rest under desk). Also stretching throughout your shifts. Taking breaks and walking away from your workstations to help circulation.
When lying in bed, depending on what positions you sleep in, placing pillows where needed to get a much more comfortable sleep. (Back sleepers - place pillows under knees to take pressure off low back. Side sleepers - place pillow between your knees to take pressure off low back and hips. Stomach sleepers - place pillow under hips to take pressure off low back.) Simple changes can make the world of difference in how we manage discomfort and pain within our bodies!
