I have to tell you that we had an awesome 4 days duck hunting in Clinton, Missouri
2 days we had our limits and 2 days 16 birds both days.
This place is full of birds!

Hey guys it's that time of year again! If you have or know of a girl or boy ages 8 to 14 and would like to learn how to fish, shoot a bow and arrow, shoot s***t, have a free lunch and get a cool T shirt and have a great time with other kids their age then take a look at this.

It's with great sadness and heavy heart to tell you that I have lost yet another great friend and fellow duck hunter. Troy Moyes passed away this evening from a courageous batter with brain cancer.
I have had the opportunity to spend many hours in the duck blind with Troy and can tell you that he was one terrific guy, he spent countless hours working in the field to help conservation efforts for our ducks and there future.

We have lost another great friend and hunting companion!
Curt Lee pictured in the center, passed away sometime Wednesday evening

Anyone that knew Curt knows that he had a true love for the outdoors, and duck hunting was his all time favorite outdoor activity
I spent many hours in the duck blind with this man and I have to say that he was the nicest person I believe I have ever met

I will truly miss Curt and will always cherish the memories of all our duck hunts

Curt will also be missed by the ducks, he like so many others spent countless hours and money working towards better conservation for our ducks and wildlife in general.
Curt was life member of Ducks Unlimited and the Chairman of the board of Hoosier Hills Ducks Unlimited, his passing will leave huge voids in both organizations, Curt was the heart, sole and back bone of the Hoosier Hills Ducks Unlimited organization here in Lawrence County

Ok I'm a little late with getting this posted. These 2 young men were my fishing partners back on June 6 at the Hardy Lake Take a Kid Fishing event

There names are Conner and Jackson Brown! I know what your thinking! I asked! and Jackson told me he couldn't sing, so its not that Jackson Browne.

These were great kids to spend the morning with, we talked about everything from who there girl friends are to diesel trucks, and they particularly liked my
Big Red F350 Power Stroke, In fact they did not even see me driving it and they told me what truck was mine in the parking lot, Since it was the only diesel truck in the parking lot I asked they if I smelled like diesel fuel or something and they commented that I looked like a diesel guy! They are correct and after this day was done I can tell you what these 2 like, besides girls! Is fishing from a Nitro Z9! And I think they enjoyed the boat ride even more.

Its kids like this that makes all the fishing I do even more enjoyable.
I would recommend to everyone that takes the time to read this to get involved with and organization that is showing our kids the great benefits of being outdoors and helping them learn to fish, hunt, camp or kayak, you never know, you might even have fun yourself

Ok Boys & Girls

Later last week I was sworn to secrecy about a subject, but due to the severity of this subject I can no longer keep this quiet

A great friend of mine Troy Moyes was diagnosed with non operable BRAIN CANCER! Troy is in day 2 of 15 radiation therapy to help reduce the 32 tumors on his brain and not doing very well at all

Now most of you do not know Troy, but as you drive up and down the highways and see Ducks and Geese in wetland type habitat you can be well assured that Troy had a direct hand in the conservation efforts it took for those Ducks and Geese to be there

Troy has been volunteering for Ducks Unlimited for what seems like an eternity, he is an avid outdoorsman and truly a great person that is very undeserved of this horrible diagnosis

As you can imagine, Troy is not doing very well mentally or physically so I would ask this from all of my friends.

PLEASE! take 30 seconds and send old Troy a text telling him you are thinking of him, 3 words will do. Thinking of you! Prayers sent your way! just anything that might lift the spirits of this great person

Duck Hunt December 7 2013, I could start this out by telling you how beautiful the morning was or how the temperature was at a balmy 6 degrees and the wind-chill was at minus 10 but if you live in southern Indiana you probably already know all that.
The low temps did not bother the ducks what so ever, in fact a few chuckles and a hail call or two from my new Quack Shack duck calls turned the ducks straight into our blind.

The hunting was so good my hunting buddy T Roy and I hardly noticed the cold until it was time to pick up the frozen decoys.

I getting that time of year when we take to the woods, fields and duck blinds. have you found the Buck of your dreams yet or at least a shooter deer!

Now is the time to break out the trail cameras and get to work on the duck blinds, the season will be upon us sooner than you think
