Joshua Hogan

Joshua Hogan July 23, 1970 - June 29, 2025

Joshua Hogan, of Bedford PA, born in Philadelphia, died on June 29, 2025.

Josh was a cherished father, brother, son, uncle and friend. He loved to cook, having learned from his grandmother and mother. He was an expert at the grill and it was known, anyone who showed up was welcome to a plate. He made and jarred spaghetti sauce from home-grown tomatoes. He was a talented gardener, horseman and hunter. He enjoyed sailing with his mother and uncles on the Chesapeake, and was an expert at reeling in crabs. He loved to swim. Josh won numerous motorcycle drag race trophies. His love for music was as eclectic as it was loud.

Josh was a naturally gifted craftsman known for exceptional tile work and carpentry.

It is important to acknowledge Josh faced profound challenges. He fought a lifelong battle with addiction and mental health. While significant, these struggles do not define a life or legacy. Josh worked to live the best he could and never gave up. He was resilient, charismatic, and quick to make friends.

Josh lived with determination and heart. We remember him as a full human being, with joys and pains, strengths and flaws. By remembering him fully and honestly, we honor his life and shed light on the challenges many face. His memory will remain a testament to love, courage and humanity.

Instead of flowers, please consider a donation in Josh's name: Savage Sisters Recovery (https://savagesisters.org/) The Salvation Army Philadelphia (https://easternusa.salvationarmy.org/eastern-pennsylvania/roxborough/)
