🧂💧 DIY Electrolyte Drink

One Serving:

1/2 tsp sea salt or pink Himalayan salt (≈ 1000mg sodium)

1/8 tsp magnesium powder (like magnesium glycinate or malate) (≈ 60–100mg magnesium)

Optional: juice of 1/4 lemon or lime 🍋 You can add frozen fruit, I’ve done this but most of the days I just want to recharge!

🌀 Mix into 24–32 oz of cold water. Stir or shake well.

* 1 can chickpeas (protein + fiber)
* 1 diced cucumber (cooling + hydrating)
* 1 cup cherry tomatoes (antioxidant-rich)
* 1/4 cup red onion (adds flavor + nutrients)
* Drizzle of avocado oil (healthy fats)
* Squeeze of lemon juice (vitamin C boost)
* Your fav spices

Mix it all up and enjoy cold. Perfect for meal prep or a grab-and-go lunch!

Father's Day Smash Burgers (Serves 2–3)
🔥 Easy, protein-packed, and guilt-free.

Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground turkey (93% or leaner)

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp garlic powder

½ tsp smoked paprika

Salt & black pepper to taste

1 tbsp olive or avocado oil (for searing)

Thinly sliced red onion (optional)

2–3 slices reduced-fat cheese (optional: provolone, Swiss, or part-skim mozzarella)

Large lettuce leaves for wraps (butter lettuce or romaine)

Protein-Boosting Toppings:
Sliced avocado (healthy fats & fiber)

Fried egg (extra 6–7g protein)

Greek yogurt “secret sauce” or plain Greek yogurt spread

Pickles, tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms (hummus is also great!)

🔥 Instructions:
Prep the Patties:
Mix turkey with seasonings. (Don’t overmix!) Divide into 4 small balls (about 4 oz each).

Smash & Cook:
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add oil.
Place turkey balls on the pan, smash flat (use parchment paper to prevent sticking).
Cook 2–3 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
Add cheese in the last minute, if using.

Assemble & Enjoy:
Wrap in lettuce, pile on your favorite toppings, and dig in!

🥣 Easy Peasy Hummus
A protein-packed, heart-healthy dip that’s perfect for your holiday spread!

Ingredients:

* 1 can of chickpeas (drained & rinsed)
* 2 tbsp tahini
* 2 tbsp olive oil
* Juice of 1 lemon
* 1 garlic clove
* Salt & pepper to taste
* Optional: a dash of cumin (I love to play with spices!) I would encourage you to as well!

Instructions:

1. Blend all ingredients until creamy.
2. Pair with fresh-cut veggies or add a spoonful of salsa for a flavorful twist!

💡 Pro Tip: I prep my veggies in advance and store them in mason jars to keep them crisp and fresh all weekend long!

✅ Choose a protein – eggs, chickpeas, lentils, grilled chicken, tempeh, what ever is your jam�
✅ Add a base – greens, quinoa, brown rice, or cauliflower rice�
✅ Pile on color – shredded carrots, cabbage, cucumber, or tomatoes COLOR IS KEY. Make is look beautiful.
�✅ Top with healthy fats – avocado, seeds, or a drizzle of olive oil/tahini.

🌿 Protein-Powered Whole Bowl
* ½ cup quinoa (cooked)
* ½ cup chickpeas (roasted or plain)
* ½ avocado, sliced
* Handful of spinach or arugula
* Shredded carrots & purple cabbage
* 1/4 cup sliced strawberries or less (antioxidants + natural sweetness 🍓)
* 1 tbsp pistachios
* Tahini-lemon drizzle (1 tbsp tahini + 1 tbsp lemon juice + water to thin + pinch of sea salt) Balanced. Satisfying. Metabolism-boosting.

✨ Healthy, Travel-Friendly Crockpot Recipe! ✨

As a holistic nutritionist, I'm always on the lookout for easy, nourishing meals that are *actually* delicious — and this one is a favorite! I make it every Easter, mostly because I love sweet potatoes and cinnamon. But also, I confess, when I make it as a tradition, it’s just so good! 🍠🍎

Sweet Potato & Apple Crockpot Bowl:

✔️ Whole food-based
✔️ Great for digestion
✔️ Naturally sweet
✔️ Perfect for meal prep or travel! (I even plug my crockpot in my car!)

For 4-6 servings:
- 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 apples, chopped (Honeycrisp or Fuji work great!)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- A pinch of sea salt
- Optional: A drizzle of maple syrup, a handful of walnuts for crunch, or even a smidge of Sriracha for a kick! I personally love that

How to:
If you're using a crockpot, I recommend coating it with a bit of coconut oil for easy cleanup. Toss everything into your crockpot with about 1/3 cup of water. Cook on low for 4–5 hours until soft and fragrant. That’s it!

🥢 Healthy & Simple: 4-Ingredient Egg Roll in a Bowl 🥢
Craving takeout but want to stay on track with your goals? This Egg Roll in a Bowl is quick, clean, and seriously delicious—with just 4 main ingredients! -- and kid approved!

👩‍🍳 What you'll need:

Ground turkey (lean protein win!)

Shredded coleslaw mix (hello, fiber & crunch) - also so easy

Coconut aminos (a low-sodium, soy-free flavor boost)

Garlic (because flavor matters!)

🔥 Just sauté the garlic and turkey, toss in the slaw, drizzle with coconut aminos, and stir-fry until tender. That’s it!

✨ Fun sides or add-ons:
🥑 Sliced avocado for healthy fats -- I personally do not skip this ever!
🍤 Grilled shrimp for extra protein flair, or add your own fav!!

Perfect for a quick lunch, weeknight dinner, or meal prep. Healthy eating doesn’t have to be complicated—or boring!

Today’s Reminder: “Sugar-Free” Doesn’t Always Mean What You Think!

Let’s break down a common label trap 👇

You grab a snack labeled “sugar-free” thinking it's a healthier option. But when you flip it over and read the ingredients… it’s filled with:

❌ Artificial sweeteners (aspartame, sucralose)

❌ Sugar alcohols (erythritol, sorbitol)

❌ Hidden sugars (maltodextrin, dextrose)

➡️ These can still affect your gut, cravings, and even your mood—even if they don’t technically “spike” your blood sugar.

✅ Pro tip for this week:
📦 Always read the ingredients, not just the marketing on the front.
🍓 Choose snacks with whole, recognizable ingredients.
💡 If you can’t pronounce it—or wouldn’t cook with it at home—( OR GIVE IT TO YOUR KIDS) it’s probably not serving your body well.

✨ Awareness is the first step to making empowered choices. Your body deserves real nourishment.
