Pregnancy and postpartum are wildly different… but they share one stubborn thread: exhaustion. 😴

During pregnancy, exhaustion felt like a home invader—stealing my sleep every night.
During postpartum, it feels more like your grandma at Woodstock… dazed and unsure what day it is. 😂

But through both seasons, one truth kept me grounded:
“The Lord will give me the strength that I need.”

And He did.
I’d have more energy than expected.
My schedule would open space to rest.
Things just worked out in ways that reminded me: God provides the strength for what He’s called me to.

Lately, as life speeds back up, I’ve been reflecting on this:
Am I filling my schedule with what God is calling me to… or with things that are simply filling space?

👉 What if we’re asking God for strength in areas He never asked us to pour ourselves into?

My encouragement to you:
🧭 Check your energy.
🙏 Seek God.
🛑 Set boundaries.
Because His grace is sufficient—but we still need to steward our yes.

Meet Tracey-Ann!

Tracey-Ann currently lives in Florida but has her clinical license to practice in Indiana. She has worked with clients from age 4 and up with a diversity of presenting concerns, ranging from anxiety, depression, and bipolar, to ADHD, PTSD, ODD, and many more. Tracey-Ann is looking to start seeing clients of all ages (adults included) via telehealth in September. She is currently only accepting self-pay clients, but will be credentialed with Anthem soon. Contact us today to be one of the first to secure your spot on her schedule.

This month marks one year at Refined Counseling and what an incredible year it has been.

🤎 73 clients were served
🤎 Over 1400 sessions

But we are just getting started!

🤎 Kadie gave birth to her baby, Samuel, on June 14th and both are doing well
🤎 Tracey-Ann is a therapist who is joining our team in September
🤎 Winslow, Kadie's goldendoodle, will be officially therapy certified upon Kadie's return

Thank you for the continued support: To every client who shows up, to every community partner who sends a referral, and to God who has provided provision through every step. We are blessed and will strive to continue providing mental health support to our community.

The next cohort of The Parent Project starts June 17th!

Since January 2024, 56 parents/caregivers have been referred to the program in Lawrence County. Here’s what they are saying:

97% reported they would recommend this course to other parents
94% reported they have the necessary skills to address their strong-willed child's behavior at home
94% reported the techniques they learned will work
89% reported the course was helpful in dealing with their strong-willed child
78% reported they increased their awareness of resources available for their child

Summer is approaching quickly, and it's time to start making plans for your children if you haven't already. Camps are a great way to provide your child with an activity that will help them foster relationships and build a variety of skills. Here are some resources of camps in the area that were passed along to me and I wanted to be sure to share!
