March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (NDDAM), a time to celebrate inclusion, community and the incredible individuals who make our Camp Allen NH family so special.

As we enter our 95th season, we’re reflecting on the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities theme “We’re Here: Then, Now, Always” and the importance of continuing to build a more inclusive world.

Camp Allen NH celebrates Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month by promoting inclusion, understanding, and opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

A PARTICIPATION REQUEST FROM OUR FRIENDS AT University of New Hampshire Institute on Disability:

---

Dear Community Member,

You are invited to take part in a brief research survey being conducted by the University of New Hampshire Institute on Disability (IOD) (IRB-FY2026-148). Your response will allow us to better understand the mental health experiences of adults with disabilities in New Hampshire, including community participation, transportation, social connections, and access to mental health services. We welcome input from adults with disabilities (or from caregivers of adults with legal guardians) through Friday, March 6.

Purpose of the Study

Our team is preparing a state-wide mental health needs assessment. This assessment will identify current strengths, gaps, and barriers related to mental health and community inclusion. We’ll use this information to write a report, which will inform future program planning, services, and advocacy efforts. The results will also be shared with other public health researchers to understand what issues are important in New Hampshire.

What Participation Involves

If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete an online survey* that includes questions about:

–Your community involvement and social connections
–How you get around your community
–Your experiences accessing mental health supports or services
–Factors that make it easier or harder to take care of your mental health

*The survey takes approximately 10–20 minutes to complete.

Risks and Benefits

Some questions relate to mental health and may feel personal. You may skip any question you do not wish to answer and may stop the survey at any time. There are no direct benefits to you for participating; however, your responses may help improve mental health services and support for adults with disabilities in New Hampshire.

Confidentiality

Your responses are private and confidential. No identifying information will be collected, and your answers will be reported in summary.

Voluntary Participation

Taking part in this survey is completely voluntary. Choosing not to participate will not affect any services or supports you receive.

If you are interested in participating, please click the link below to begin the survey.
