A PARTICIPATION REQUEST FROM OUR FRIENDS AT University of New Hampshire Institute on Disability:
---
Dear Community Member,
You are invited to take part in a brief research survey being conducted by the University of New Hampshire Institute on Disability (IOD) (IRB-FY2026-148). Your response will allow us to better understand the mental health experiences of adults with disabilities in New Hampshire, including community participation, transportation, social connections, and access to mental health services. We welcome input from adults with disabilities (or from caregivers of adults with legal guardians) through Friday, March 6.
Purpose of the Study
Our team is preparing a state-wide mental health needs assessment. This assessment will identify current strengths, gaps, and barriers related to mental health and community inclusion. Weâll use this information to write a report, which will inform future program planning, services, and advocacy efforts. The results will also be shared with other public health researchers to understand what issues are important in New Hampshire.
What Participation Involves
If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete an online survey* that includes questions about:
âYour community involvement and social connections
âHow you get around your community
âYour experiences accessing mental health supports or services
âFactors that make it easier or harder to take care of your mental health
*The survey takes approximately 10â20 minutes to complete.
Risks and Benefits
Some questions relate to mental health and may feel personal. You may skip any question you do not wish to answer and may stop the survey at any time. There are no direct benefits to you for participating; however, your responses may help improve mental health services and support for adults with disabilities in New Hampshire.
Confidentiality
Your responses are private and confidential. No identifying information will be collected, and your answers will be reported in summary.
