Today was a day full of creativity, learning, and friendly competition as we hosted our Annual Regatta Boat Race! 🏁

Our talented residents in the Creative Flow Club put their skills to the test by crafting unique boats entirely from recycled materials. As they designed and built, they also dove into conversations about sustainability and recycling, proving that learning can be both fun and impactful.

This afternoon, we took the excitement outside under the portico for the big race! It was a close competition, but we’re thrilled to announce our 1st place winner: George! 🏆👏

☀️💦 We ended summer with an 85-foot SPLASH 💦☀️

That’s right, our annual waterslide was back and BIGGER than ever! This year’s slide stretched 85 feet long and even had a splash zone in the middle. (Because honestly, what’s life without a surprise soaking halfway down? 😂)

Our residents were zooming, splashing, and laughing like kids again, proving once more that age is just a number, but fun is forever. 🎉

And let’s be real for a second… we’re obviously the only choice for senior living in Bedford County. If it’s not Colonial Courtyard… it’s just not right. Call our community today to be added to our waitlist before next year’s water slide! 😉

🍌🍨 Today our residents went absolutely bananas for National Banana Split Day! 🎉

Our activities team channeled their inner ice cream artisans (aka “professional sundae architects”) and whipped up some seriously sweet creations. 🍦✨ Residents had extra sprinkles of joy, a few cherries on top, and maybe even a little brain freeze here and there BUT…. totally worth it! 😆

Because around here, life is always better when it’s split… especially with bananas! 💛

We are beyond grateful to everyone who came out to support our first ever Colonial Classic Car Show! Here at Colonial Courtyard at Bedford, we believe in making our residents’ journey our mission, and today was a shining example of that.

When George moved into our community, he brought along his incredible model car collection. His passion for cars inspired us to do something truly special, not just for him, but for all our residents and visitors to enjoy. Together, we created a miniature model car show indoors for George AND a massive outdoor show featuring over 35 classic and vintage automobiles!

The turnout, the smiles, and the sense of community made this event unforgettable. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every resident, family member, car owner, and community friend who made this day possible. You helped us turn a dream into a reality. ❤️

🎭✨ Today our community had the absolute pleasure of welcoming a very talented young lady, Jaycee!

Jaycee is just 10 years old (turning 11 on Friday 🎉) and already wowed us with her incredible ventriloquism skills. She’s been teaching herself for about a year and a half, and let’s just say… she gave us quite a show! 👏👏

When she’s not entertaining a crowd, Jaycee keeps busy with sideline cheer, competition cheer, volleyball, softball, dancing, and gymnastics/tumbling. And on top of all that, she’s also a 6th grader at Bellwood Antis Middle School in Bellwood! 💪📚

Thank you, Jaycee, for sharing your amazing talents and bright energy with us today, our residents loved every second! 💖

🌸🌼 What a blooming beautiful Saturday it turned out to be! Our residents and our Activity Director, Tyler, took a little field trip to the gorgeous flower fields at Cuppett Bros. Farms!!!

Let’s just say… our residents were basically like kids in a candy shop… except the candy was sunflowers and zinnias. 😂 Jerry even joked, “I’ll take this whole row home if Tyler can carry it!” (He’s still icing his arms, don’t worry. 💪🌸)

We are SO thankful to Cuppett Bros. Farms for welcoming us and letting our residents not only enjoy the breathtaking fields but also bring back their own flower arrangements. Now our community is filled with the kind of beauty that only fresh flowers and the smiles of our residents can bring. 💛

Here’s to more days filled with sunshine, laughter, and a little dirt on our shoes. 🌻
