Table comes with hip levelers (see photo), face cradle, saddle stool, 30 fleece face cradle covers, tablewarmer and table cover. Table is Oakworks purchased in 2005--works just fine, no tears or wear in leather cover. One foot control works--see the video.

NEXT CHAPTER: RETIREMENT

Hello All,

Many of you know that the changes in my schedule over the last few years were leading to an eventual retirement.

These weeks of recovering from the first of two carpal tunnel surgeries has given me substantial time to reflect on the past and consider the future.

When I left my corporate position in New York for a simpler life, the plan was to work 10-15 years in a semi-retirement kind of practice and then hang up that shingle.

Here we are 26 years later. When you extend your gig by 10-15 years, it must have been a great one. And it has been.

While I return to work on Tuesday, March 10, my last day of work in Therapy Designed for You will be April 15, 2026. I will take time to care for several family members needing assistance for medical reasons and likely have my second carpal tunnel surgery mid-Summer. Not lacking for opportunities to share my administrative skills, I will continue volunteering through Vision International Missions and Zeal Movement Church.

It has been an honor and privilege to be part of your wellness team--some of you practically from the beginning. AITC has been my work place (more like a home) since 2005. Being associated with a high-quality and high-integrity practice like AITC was an enhancement I never could have imagine.

I am happy to announce that Jake Dembow has purchased the practice and will keep the name of "Therapy Designed for You". Between now and May 1, we will work on all the administrative issues related to a business transfer. As you may have noticed, Jake has increased his availability and is looking forward to a full and thriving practice.

I feel most comfortable leaving you, literally, in good hands with Jake and Denise Gagne. I am confident they will continue providing the quality treatment to which you have become accustomed.

Your contribution to my having a successful massage career means more to me than you will ever understand.

Our therapists, Denise and Jake, are doing a bang up job in their first years at TDFY. Both have repeat and regular clients who often provide positive feedback on Square or Google.

If you are looking for muscular therapy, tension relief, better range of motion, or simply to give yourself a new healthcare activity, consider booking a massage with Denise (evenings and Saturdays) or Jake (weekdays with flexibility for weekends).

There's a new therapist in the house! Jake Dembow joins TDFY next Monday, 3/17. Jake brings another set of hands and skills for sports, injury recovery, repetitive stress and other causes which are suited to deep tissue massage. We are in the process of updating the website, but see the brief bio below.

Jake's initial hours will be Monday and Friday 10 am to 6 pm. From 3/17-4/17 treatments with Jake will be $80 per hour, $120 for 90 minutes and $160 for 2 hours.

"He is a bodyworker driven to assist his clients achieve lasting therapeutic change. He is skilled in multiple modalities including deep tissue & myofascial release, pre- and post-event sports massage, traditional and table Thai-style, and cupping. By blending and integrating these techniques into his practice, Jake designs sessions to address his clients’ individual needs.

Jake graduated from the Denver Integrative Massage School in Denver, CO in March 2024. Before his career in bodywork, he was a college football coach for over eleven years.

Through his background in athletics, Jake has extensive experience in strength & conditioning, human movement, body mechanics, and stretch techniques. He recognizes and respects that everyone is unique and has individual concerns and goals. He strives to be a client-centered practitioner through communication & feedback, and individualized integrated sessions. Jake hopes to help clients identify the “whys” of their anatomy & physiology, and develop strategies that will leave them feeling their best."

The Olympics bring to mind all the efforts elite athletes put into their sport. In the "T" (Training the Body) column are things like weight lifting, functional movement training, training, cross-training. In the "R" (for Restoring the Body) column are things like nutrition, hydration, electrolyte balancing, rest, cupping, mindfulness, acupuncture, massage, stretching.

They perform at an elite level because they find harmony between those things that tax their body and those things that restore their body. Yes, injuries still occur--because they will. Their ability to recover quicker than the average person is because of this harmony and dedication to doing what is necessary.

Stay-cation Massages Available!

We have been rocking and rolling, but the summer slow-down has hit and we have openings (we also have air-conditioning!).

With our new additions, Denise Gagne and Jenny Huoppi, there are hours available for your massage day and night and Saturdays. Remember that there is a "welcome" discount on massages with Jenny with pricing at $80 per hour & $120 per 90 minute session. Through August, I will also honor that pricing for massages with Denise if you mention this ad at the time of your booking (if you are already scheduled--remember to ask for the discount at your treatment time).

Bulgaria - November 2024

Finally I have a mission trip scheduled for this year. I will be joining a small team of women headed to Dobromirka, Bulgaria to work with the Mission Possible Bulgaria Team. MP has been working in Eastern Europe for 50 years now helping villages and villagers learn about the love of God by making long-term commitments to them. Our team will visit several remote villages (activities will depend on what is needed at the time of our arrival) and we will assist in a 3-day training conference to aid churches in developing and running prayer ministries and intercessory prayer.

The cost of the trip is expected to be about $3,000 between airfare, ground transportation, conference materials and refreshments and our food and dormitory style housing.

Saw the movie "Cabrini" last night. It is about Mother Cabrini's mission to serve the underserved around the world. If you have a mission that seems impossible, this movie will provide hope. What she accomplished is simply anazing. I had no idea her journey was blocked at many turns just like Mother Theresa. Yet, they both persisted and won!

God does not pick the equipped, He equips those picked. If you are answering a call from God, do your part and trust that He will do his part.
