🎁Toys for Kids 2025! 🎄

Yesterday, toys and gifts for nearly 500 Bedford County children were delivered as part of the 2025 Toys for Kids campaign.

The annual toy drive is a significant collaborative effort coordinated by Centra BMH and the Bedford County Sheriff's Office, with support from numerous law enforcement agencies, first responders, and local businesses.

Behind the scenes, preparations for the big day begin months in advance. Generous donations from community members across the county are gathered and then sorted according to each child’s wish list. A huge shout-out to our awesome CBMH caregivers who match the toys & gifts to each list. This process requires hundreds of hours each year.

Yesterday was all-hands-on-deck, with volunteers from Centra BMH, Bedford County Sheriff's Office VA, Bedford VA Police Department, Virginia State Police, Wicked Diesel, and several fire & rescue squads working together to load the gifts for their special deliveries.

It truly takes a village—so many organizations and agencies come together every year to make this happen. Thank you to everyone who helped spread holiday cheer! Feel free to tag your organization if we missed someone! Centra

🎄✨ What a fantastic Saturday! We had an amazing time at the Peaks of Otter Christmas Classic 5K cheering on around 700+ racers. This was their biggest year yet, despite the weather! Our BMH “Cheer Crew” brought the energy before heading to the Bedford Christmas Parade to join the rest of our crew with the Centra BMH Parade float! This year’s float featured Christmas trees created by different departments & teams 🎅🎁
A big Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to make this happen❤️

Breast Imaging at Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital provides advanced, compassionate diagnostic care with services such as 3D mammography, ultrasound, and breast MRI. Their expert radiologists and dedicated care team focus on early detection, accurate results, and personalized support to help patients make informed decisions about their breast health.
Proceeds from their tree will benefit the Bedford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, which supports Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital and the Bedford community by providing funding, equipment, supplies, and patient-care enhancements beyond regular hospital budgets. The Auxiliary helps strengthen community health, improve the patient experience, and ensure that important resources and opportunities are available to those receiving care in Bedford.

Last night, we hosted our Annual Christmas Tree Lighting, and it was truly magical! The evening was filled with festive music from the Liberty High School Marching Band, a special visit from Santa, and—believe it or not—he even brought some snow! ❄️

We're making important updates to how we welcome visitors to Centra hospital campuses, starting with Bedford Memorial Hospital! 🪪
When visiting, guests can now expect to receive a visitor ID badge upon arrival. To ensure you're prepared to visit a Centra hospital campus, please bring a photo ID along for check-in. This change will begin to take effect throughout the month of December, and will continue to roll out to all Centra hospitals through January 2026.
