A video was posted on Facebook about a dog with an eye that had been eaten by maggots!! It was said that she desperately needed help, when we noticed no rescues were coming forward we decided to take the leap! LIBERTY was rescued by Nada AL Moosa from Omani paws rescue in Oman, with very few vets in the country she knew liberty,s only chance would be to get medical care in the USA.. We discovered that Liberty a young 1 yr old, Had not only had her eye eaten by maggots but she was pretty much found dead weighing barely 30 lbs, IMAGINE!! Liberty, s abusive owner kept her crated 24/7 and her hips have suffered damage due to it. Liberty arrived to us on June 3 rd and we can say she is the sweetest dog that deserves a second chance in life.. LIBERTY, Had her consult with Dr. Lazarus. X-rays were taken and I'm to meet with physical Therapist and well as an Optomologist to discuss what option would be best!! LIBERTY eye had no lid, she's constantly scratching and Per Dr, Lazarus his recommendation is to have it removed. As far as her hips, they are not in good condition she has Hip dysplasia we discussed a full hip replacement or FHO!! A femoral head ostectomy (FHO) is a surgical procedure that removes the head and neck from the femur. FHO surgery is performed to alleviate pain. It is a salvage procedure, reserved for condition where pain can not be alleviated in any other way. We will decide the surgery needed based on the outcome of our consult, however we are looking at a very costly surgery. PLEASE SHARE IF YOU CAN'T DONATE
