Please read this letter from our daughter Bethie who is running for Student of the Year!
I am honored to announce I have been selected as a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's fundraising event called Students of the Year to raise money and awareness for blood cancer patients and their families. LLS’s mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients.
When I was 3 years old I suffered from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It was a trying time. I had to undergo many treatments and I even had to get a stem-cell transplant to replace the cells that I lost during chemotherapy. I eventually got better thanks to all the cancer research that has been conducted, the donations that have been given to the ongoing search for a cure, and all the support I received. I encourage you to join me in supporting LLS by making a tax-deductible donation to my fundraising campaign to help other kids who are suffering from the same or similar cancer that I was 11 years ago.
Your donation not only supports my fundraising but the millions of patients and their families touched by blood cancer.
From January 16th through March 7th, you can join the cause to stop cancer and save the lives of cancer patients like me by donating to the Heroes of Hope team campaign. You can find the link to my fundraising page which includes more information about LLS and their mission here: https://events.lls.org/cran/trentonsoy21/ehoyea
You can also donate by mailing a check payable to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society directly to me at: 382 North Road Chester, New Jersey 07930.
Thank you for your support!
Sincerely, Elizabeth Hoye
