Job Description
Job Title: Practice Coordinator
Status: Part Time- 24 hours per week
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Medical Directors, Dental Director, and the Board
About Beersheba Springs Medical Clinic
Embedded in the Beersheba Springs community the Beersheba Springs Medical Clinic reflects and supports the values of a rural Appalachian community and spirit. The Clinic is a 501(c)(3) medical facility established in 2010 by and for the community of Beersheba Springs, Tennessee. We provide comprehensive ambulatory medical services for the community including:
● Diagnosis and treatment of acute episodic illness
● Chronic disease detection and management
● Arranging appropriate hospital and specialist referrals
● Well-child care & school physicals
● Family planning
● Health education including nutrition counseling, weight control, diabetes training, and smoking cessation
● Free medications as well as help obtaining expensive pharmaceuticals directly from drug companies
● Coordination with other community assets to help our patients
● Dental care ( 2 days per month)
Summary of the Position:
The Practice Coordinator oversees and participates in the day-to-day operations of our medical and dental clinics. The ideal candidate will have a strong medical or dental care and office management background, focusing on patient care and team coordination.

● Computer Savvy: Proficient in the use of computers, including Microsoft Office, and electronic health record systems, including Athena

● Integrity: Commitment to high integrity and confidential and proprietary information. ● Team mindset: Ability to be a team player and work collaboratively;
● Self-Directed: Ability to organize and prioritize work for self and other staff members, set & accomplish goals
Experience:
● Experience preferred in the Medical/Dental Field with organizational management, including working with a budget and financial planning.
Experience with computer systems, preferably electronic health record systems, including Athena.
Experience in working collegially and developing rapport with a wide diverse variety of individuals and leaders. Ability to work well with other staff as a team member.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to
● Provide leadership and direction to the clinic staff, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
● Utilize medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patient
Manage and coordinate the scheduling of patient appointments, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
● Oversee the maintenance and management of the clinic's electronic health record system, including Athena.
● Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, referral offices, and other stakeholders.
⚫️Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care and outcomes. -
⚫️Ensure the clinic is running efficiently and effectively, with a focus on patient satisfaction and safety.
⚫️Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including patient privacy and OSHA.
⚫️Oversee the ordering of supplies and medications.
⚫️Collaborate with the clinic medical directors and Executive Director to develop and implement strategic plans for the Clinic.
⚫️Collaborate with the Executive Director on grant applications and reporting requirements
● Develop and implement effective utilization management strategies to optimize resource allocation and improve patient outcomes.
⚫️Helps to manage the clinic's budget collaborating with the Executive Director and Treasurer including financial planning, budgeting, and writing checks for routine expenses.
