We want to extend the warmest of thank yous to Bobby and Mel from Mental 2 Metal! The three day came out and blessed us with a bunch of disc golf equipment, put on a clinic for us, and spoke beautifully about recovery. A lot of principles of this game mirror principles of recovery, and this organization embodies those. And four minutes before they've brought a lot of hope and smiles to our guys today!

Sometimes we have clients come through and the outside world causes an early exit before we get to where we need to get. Nothing is wasted when you live in God's will for us. We will miss you Samuel. You are always welcome and family for life. Take what you have learned and keep the momentum flowing.

Disc golf has been such a huge part of my recovery. Getting sober meant I had of void of time and energy that was previously occupied by the getting, using, and finding ways and means to get more of what was keeping me sick. This innocuous little game gave me a healthy outlet to connect with nature, get out of my head, and engage my mind, body, and spirit in a manner antithetical to my disease. Im grateful that I get to pass this gift along at South Texas Recovery Foundation, and usher in groups of newcomers into the disc golf community. Its beautiful to se the guys that society views as "hard cases" out in the woods, in fields of flowers, throwing little pieces of plastic at baskets, and connecting with their inner child. I love my job, and I love the life that recovery has given me!
