Please welcome Jamie to our practice! She has immediate openings for in-person appointments at our Towson office.

Jamie Laning, LMSW
Therapist (Towson)

Jamie works with clients (ages 13+) dealing with trauma, PTSD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts. She is also deeply committed to providing affirming, inclusive care for LGBTQIA+ and justice-involved clients. Her style is collaborative and flexible. Jamie blends tools from CBT, DBT-informed strategies, and Person-Centered, Strengths-Based approaches. She often uses mindfulness, grounding skills, and journaling in sessions but tailors treatment to what fits each person best. Jamie wants therapy to feel like a space where clients can show up as themselves, be heard, and build skills that make life a little lighter. She brings honesty, warmth, and a sense of humor to the work, because healing doesn’t have to be cold or clinical to be effective. Jamie offers both in-person and telehealth appointments, with evening availability until 8 p.m. She currently accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna (Evernorth), United Healthcare, and private pay clients, with some sliding-scale options available.

Year after year, government data have shown that the maternal mortality rate in the United States remains unacceptably high, with Black and American Indian or Alaska Native pregnant and postpartum people disproportionately experiencing health inequities. The vast majority—roughly 80%—of maternal deaths are considered preventable, and nearly half of maternal deaths occur between seven and 365 days postpartum, not during delivery itself.

For Maternal Health Awareness Day, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) will host a live webinar today at 1pm to help attendees better understand all that is at stake.
