Amanda offers trauma-informed, person-centered care to children (ages 8+), teens, and adults. Amanda incorporates a cognitive behavioral (CBT) approach to counseling where she works collaboratively with clients to process, challenge, and reflect on thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. She offers a warm, authentic approach to counseling with the goal of empowering clients. Amanda is available for individual in-person or telehealth appointments. She currently accepts private pay clients as well as Cigna (Evernorth), Carefirst Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United Healthcare insurances. Amanda can see Johns Hopkins EHP clients through the Cigna network.

Year after year, government data have shown that the maternal mortality rate in the United States remains unacceptably high, with Black and American Indian or Alaska Native pregnant and postpartum people disproportionately experiencing health inequities. The vast majority—roughly 80%—of maternal deaths are considered preventable, and nearly half of maternal deaths occur between seven and 365 days postpartum, not during delivery itself.

For Maternal Health Awareness Day, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) will host a live webinar today at 1pm to help attendees better understand all that is at stake.

Leanda strives to work with individuals and families with light-hearted compassion and empathy, free of judgement. While she is well-versed in working with those struggling with mood and anxiety disorders, Leanda is passionate about working with student athletes and their mental health, the LGBTQ+ population and their families, individuals with addiction to po*******hy, parents of s*x abuse victims, and survivors of human trafficking. She is also trained in Instinctual Trauma Response Therapy (ITR), an evidence-based trauma treatment (helpfortrauma.com). Leanda works with children (ages 10+) and adults and is available for evening and Saturday appointments in-person at both Bel Air and Towson, as well as telehealth appointments.
